I bought three titles and then (after I had paid for them) was told that I can't read them on my PC. That is fraud in my opinion. No indication on the page where I bought them that you must have specific types of e-readers. Check out what you need before buying. |

What specific e-reader do you need Tony. Are these in a Kindle format, Mobi, epub or something truly weird? Many of these readers can, with some google-fu, be downloaded. |

epub I would guess as Sainsburies took over the Nook stuff. Get Calibre and you will be able to read and convert to other formats like .pdf. |

Their FAQ tells how to download their reader(s) but they never specifically say what format the eBook is. Osprey eBooks are usually ePub and PDF, so should we assume Sainesbury's is ePub? |

Yes it is ePub. 'Unfortunately, you cannot read our eBooks on an Amazon Kindle, which does not support electronic formats (ePUB), the free and open eBook standard that we use.' Readers etc here: calibre-ebook.com download.cnet.com/s/epub-reader |

Hi folks, sorry for lack of response but I've been away helping my sister-in-law move flats. All I got with the download was a tiny file – .ascm, never heard of that one. After some advice from the helpline I downloaded Adobe DE 3.0 and then had to register and go through hoops to finally get to see the books. Every step was torturous because no clear instructions are given on the Sainsbury's site and (as usual) the Adobe App was as clear as mud to set up. The book is still in my 'Library' on the site, all I get to do is read it on-line. Useful but not what I thought that I was buying. I've bought the PDF Ospreys before and I assumed that was what I was getting – no indication on the Sainsbury's site that it was different. I'll be more careful next time. Thanks for the help though, appreciated. |

Assuming no DRM, you can always convert the epub to azw (which is what the kindle can read). Although there are a lot of apps you can download to your computer, the simplest solution is to use this online site. link Again, it cannot have any DRM. If it does, I would suggest using Calibre to remove it. Then you can use your Kindle to read the book, if that is what you use. I have a Kobo, and am always buying Kindle files which I then convert to epub to read on my Kobo. |

Sorry Tony S, I don't understand any of that. Can you explain please. |

For those who are interested in Kindle books there is a wide range of Ospreys available through the kindle store from 99p upwards, just search Osprey publishing and filter by price low to high. Much better than Sainsbury failstore |
