I'll be following this with great interest! The ships look gorgeous. Cheers SP |

ADB had just recently licenced MJ12 Games to release a series of supplements for the SFB universe using MJ12's game system. Now they are licencing *another* company to do the same? Does this mean the MJ12 supplements are going OOP? Will they be publishing multiple competing game systems with three different companies now? I admit I'm a bit confused about the direction they are going with marketing their product line(s). The ships do look nice, in any case. The most recent batch of ships I purchased from ADB where terribly flawed castings so if Mongoose is going to release new sculpts, I'm all for that. |

Anyone an indication what size the actual models are? I know the old Micro Universe models were all over the place with scales, but would these fit in, in a very general sense? |

I've heard a lot of good things about A Call to Arms. Maybe I'll bite on this. |

Will they be publishing multiple competing game systems with three different companies now? Why not? I imagine they make more money off selling models than they do on rules

It's certainly a challenge to the "You MUST use OUR rules with OUR miniatures ONLY" commandments from certain manufacturers. . . Which will please people who have issues with the playability of a game but love the minis, and terrify those brought up on taking the whole package, warts and all, and accepting it as the only 'game' in town ( pun not intended ). |

Will ADB be releasing these products in the US at the same time as Mongoose in the UK? |

Alan – this image might help you on the size question:
McKinstry – my understanding is that ADB and Mongoose will be releasing at the same time. Preorder options go up on the Mongoose site this week, Australians can already preorder at Little Soldiers here: link Hope that helps! – Martin at Little Soldiers |

Now this is what star fleet models are supposed to look like. |

Wow! I have no interest in ACTA (I have the original B5 version and I was never a fan) but those ships look great. A shame about the shift in scale though. |

they look really nice!!.. where can you get the decals from?? will there be any for the new ships?? |
TheDreadnought | 16 Nov 2011 6:58 a.m. PST |
I don't see a problem here. ADB probably makes their money from miniatures. Having multiple systems available increases their sales, as well as offers options to persnickety gamers who want their starship rules to be exactly 'thus, and so'. Everybody wins here. |

St Anselm – no firm word on decals just yet, but I'll keep folk here in the loop if I hear otherwise. I'll certainly be making some myself, if only because my hand-lettering skills have never been that patient! |

mdauben – ADB has decided to license out their Star Fleet Universe Setting to companies. The only requirement is besides the licensing fee of course, is the new setting must maintain the Star Fleet Universe feel. So anyone that license there setting can not start submitting things like Klingon ships with Cloaking Devices and Photon Torpedoes. MJ12 can continue to release new products as long as they develop them and run it by ADB. Mongoose is of course releasing their A Call to Arms System and whispers on the winds is that Gorilla games is working on a Battlestaion version of the Star Fleet Universe. So don't be surprised if there are more Star Fleet Games in the future. Like was said different people like different systems so hopefully every one can find a rule set they like eventually. Last I heard on Decals was Mongoose was looking into it as a possible project some time after Christmas. |
