"Galaxy Fleet Wars Standard Edition Available" Topic

I went to the Wargames vault site and looked at the preview. It is fluff and credits with some info on model stats. Could you at least provide the turn sequence so that we can get some idea of how it plays?

21.00 for a set of PDF rules is on the high side, especially with no real idea how it plays. The only information available seems to be marketing fluff.

The link to Fleetdock13 leads to a site with a bunch of ships for a computer game from over 10 years ago (although I do have fond memories of playing SFC back in the day). All of the links (that I checked) are 404. I do not see any of the support for this game, unless I missed it.

I am really looking for a large scale, fleet action game, but without more info, I will have to pass on this one.

I have to agree. I'm always intersted in a new space combat rules system, but there is just not enough info here to get me to drop $20 USD+ on a PDF.

£10.99 GBP ($20ish) is about average for a new release Pdf edition, The outlay is minimal since I will not be charging for new editions, as each book grows or is redeveloped into new editions purchasers will get the update free! (so IF YOU buy 1st edition OF ANY of my volumes you get 2nd,3rd etc free!).

the Standard edition represents about 120 pages of rules or so plus references, about 20 pages of templates and counters to print so the game can be played without miniatures initially.

Full color templates for Asteroid fields, Comets, Planets, Moons, a Gas Giant (Jupiter), Nebulas and Dust clouds too.

When my FLEETDOCK13 site is re-launched there will be a free fleet design App/Program for PC to down load that will allow easy printing of fleet sheets incorperating the vessel design rules from the standard edition, Until then there are Word/Xml sheets included with the rules.

The Basic version is the game mechanics without any complex stuff, for £3.50 GBP ($5ish).

I was going to do vessels for the game and have done some as demonstrated in the Book but little interest so far.

Until I get some idea of interest there is no point in the outlay to do metal or resin except in very limited runs.

So far as Minatures go in general though I do do CAD for PC games, see Fleetdock13 If you played SFC1-3 you will know all my TOS models I'm sure. So what I plan, if I get interest is to release the models through SHAPEWAYS as 3D Printed versions.

I will also be releasing Articles on modelling SF minis which will be posted to Fleetdock13.

why is Fleetdock13 now inactive well SFC ran its course and I left it as was so people could download the models FOC. now its just a place archive but the server all the files were on was shutdown.

the new FLEETDOCK13 site will have a link from my on wargame Vault and will go up in December 2014 I hope.

To print the Standard Edition would cost me £9.50 GBP GBP($18ish) a COPY so a printed version would be £16.00 GBP ($33-35ish) retail.
