Oh, sure, it's all.prehistoric now, but where are those New Kingdom Egyptian vs. Libyan rules you mentioned a few years back? I am APPALLED that this has not been addressed yet! But seriously, what point of human or prehuman evolution is being simulated in the supplement? |

where are those New Kingdom Egyptian vs. Libyan rules you mentioned a few years back In playtest still. I actually posted some of the outcome of the playtesting in a thread where Who Asked This Joker was asking about Egyptian vs Hittite chariots. I hope I didn't promise a timeline and sorry I am slow. what point of human or prehuman evolution is being simulated in the supplement? None, really, hence the word 'fantasy' in the description. The H/G campaign contemporizes Cro-Magnon, Neanderthal, and dinos. The individual phases are reasonable one-off games by themselves. The campaign system requires balancing different numbers and types of forces across two "seasons" of activity that is unrealistic in terms of long-term planning by primitive humans. You can easily plod through the campaign elements blindly (randomly distributing your resource cards), play what you get, and still have fun. |

Dude, I was totally kidding about the Egyptian stuff ;-) And the evolution question was pretty tongue in cheek too. I love all your crazy ideas you post, enjoy the overreaching arcs to your humour, and sought to amuse you as well ;-) |

I was pretty sure your ire was a bit overdone. But I do have a haphazard schedule of what gets tested and published when. The other comment hit home, as one of my friends is an evolutionary biologist and she wants me to implement some dynamics as wargames for her. I'm kind of behind the eightball because I owe another historian friend some modifications to a lovely Haitian Civil War (Salnave) game we did for the French Wars of Religion (which another historian friend from church and her husband will berate me about!). |

How many miniatures to a tribe? |

Tribes consist of about 60 total members. There are two "seasons" in the game, each with four phases. You allocated cavemen to three of the phases (the survivors participate in the fourth). So you split all your cavemen across six events. The result is you usually need 8-12 on the board at a time, and maybe two dozen in the fourth phase. In general, you need a way to tell spearmen from clubmen (different stats), though you could easily do this with a poker chip under the base. There are a couple of special figures (champion, chieftain, witch). The .pdf has fold-up flats for all the figures you need. It's also nice if you want to supplement your existing figures. |
