This book is about the first " modern" Air war in Latin America. Were there pre-modern air wars?

Vigilant12 Mar 2018 1:19 p.m. PST

It doesn't say modern air war, it says modern war where airpower was used. That said I don't know enough about South American history to say what other modern wars there were. Though the US did use aircraft against Pinch Villa if that counts.

Not to be pedantic, but isn't it actually Pincho Villa?

Vig, I was just reading what is said on the cover. " The first modern air war in Latin America "

I don't think the war against Poncho Villa was an actual air war. did Poncho have AirPower? well I guess I did see a Robert Mitchum movie about it. No dog fights between him and Jennys that Pershing had, however.

Regardless, it looks like an interesting book.

" The first modern air war in Latin America "

Wikipedia says:

The Chaco War was the first major Latin American conflict in which aircraft were used.

My apologies for reading the text not the cover, blame it on the 3 day headache following a tooth extraction. As for "Pinch Villa" blame that on TMP's bizarre spell checker.
