I never envisioned the PPD wave effect as looking anywhere near that stupid. Enough to put me off playing ISC, it is. "Energize the squiggly line generator, men!" :)

I liked them in tournament. A real challenge to use the PPD well without an echelon of friends to help out. In the regular game, not so interesting – little too uber, and their tactics didn't really shine unless you were playing a bigger game than anything I'd care to do. They were always a "squadron" or "fleet" race stuck in a "duel" rules system.

I liked how they represented the PPD in the PC game,looked really cool.
