Oh wow. Very nice! I love that they brought up stuff no one else is making, like the Navy Seals for that era and Vietnamese allies that aren't the corrupt and nigh useless ARVNs.

Ouch. Wolfprohet, may I suggest Andrew Weist's book "Vietnam's Forgotten Army: Heroism and Betrayal in the ARVN".

The ARVN wasn't nigh useless.

I'll have to look into that, but honestly, with what I've read, it would take some seriously positive examples of anything really to prove to me that the ARVNs weren't just a bunch of pompous puppet gov't troops whose only real contribution was translators.

Even with the drug trafficking, I still have more respect for the Montynards and other tribal groups we armed to aid us against local VC activity.
