Oh wow. Very nice! I love that they brought up stuff no one else is making, like the Navy Seals for that era and Vietnamese allies that aren't the corrupt and nigh useless ARVNs. |

Ouch. Wolfprohet, may I suggest Andrew Weist's book "Vietnam's Forgotten Army: Heroism and Betrayal in the ARVN". The ARVN wasn't nigh useless. |

I'll have to look into that, but honestly, with what I've read, it would take some seriously positive examples of anything really to prove to me that the ARVNs weren't just a bunch of pompous puppet gov't troops whose only real contribution was translators. Even with the drug trafficking, I still have more respect for the Montynards and other tribal groups we armed to aid us against local VC activity. |
