Cool stuff!

TheCount02 Feb 2012 11:14 a.m. PST

Looks like those despicable ECM troops have been using the rockworms for target practice. Alien life has feelings too y'know!

LeonAdler02 Feb 2012 11:25 a.m. PST

I can see a few troopers falling down holes to encounter some of those :o)
Nice to have something different!

TheCount

Worms arent just for Christmas?

cloudcaptain02 Feb 2012 11:30 a.m. PST

You should make a pack-laden version of the "horses".

Angel Barracks02 Feb 2012 11:31 a.m. PST

Good idea!

Oh I forgot to say.
These are the first ever sculpts by the sculptor.
Given that then his stuff can only get better, can't wait!

elsyrsyn02 Feb 2012 11:34 a.m. PST

I think yuo need to get to a doctor, and quickly! Obviously your hand has become infested with alien monsters!

Nice minis!

Doug

TheCount02 Feb 2012 11:39 a.m. PST

Leon,

For life, definitely! They're tough beasties, just a bit sensitive really. A bit like those Horta. "No kill I".

Tgunner02 Feb 2012 12:43 p.m. PST

Yeah, nice stuff Angel. I can't wait to see your 6mm civilians.

morrigan02 Feb 2012 1:01 p.m. PST

Congratulations on your first miniature range! I'm looking forward to the civilians as well.

Gaz004502 Feb 2012 1:13 p.m. PST

Great looking stuff…..now i just need to dig out the ol' Traveller 'encounters' tables for beasties, flora and fauna!!

Shedman02 Feb 2012 1:15 p.m. PST

Are you selling these at PAW?

Battlescale02 Feb 2012 1:17 p.m. PST

Excellent sculpts! Good luck with the new venture!

Angel Barracks02 Feb 2012 1:25 p.m. PST

Are you selling these at PAW?

Alas not Alan, the greens only arrived today so they have not been sent to the casters yet.

Thanks for the kind words folks.
The sculptor has read this and was a bit anxious as to the feedback as they are his first ever work.
Though with all the kind words he is pleased and off doing work for the civilians now.

"Hudson: Is this gonna be a standup fight, sir, or another bughunt?
Gorman: All we know is that there's still no contact with the colony, and that a xenomorph may be involved.
Frost: Excuse me sir, a-a what?
Gorman: A xenomorph.
Hicks: It's a bughunt."

Count me in. I have a mess of 6mm sci-fi and a mass bug hunt would be a fun game scenario.

ooh you edited your post and mine looks silly now as you already said that!

Caesar02 Feb 2012 1:44 p.m. PST

Congrats and good luck!

GreyONE02 Feb 2012 1:46 p.m. PST

"ooh you edited your post and mine looks silly now as you already said that!"

Sorry about that, to make it up to you, I will order a mess of your bugs when they are ready!

'and off doing work for the civilians now' you mean he is alowed to be somewhere else other than on the design bench? Good grief! You'll be telling me he sleeps next……….lol

ps Cracks whip in designers direction

moocifer02 Feb 2012 2:11 p.m. PST

I'd like me some of them alien space horsees ..

Psyckosama02 Feb 2012 2:46 p.m. PST

I'd like to see a picture of them next to some 15mm figures.

From the look of them you could probably sell them in multiple scales. 6mm, 10mm, and 15mm.

Angel Barracks02 Feb 2012 3:03 p.m. PST

I don't own anything other than 6mm…

huh?

So I will see what I can pick up over the weekend for you.

NoBodyLovesMe02 Feb 2012 3:38 p.m. PST

I'm looking forward to picking up a bunch of these.

Lots of scenario and objective possibilities as well as just for a bit of terrain "colour".

Thats goes double for the civilians!

Willtij02 Feb 2012 3:39 p.m. PST

This is great stuff.

scottsz02 Feb 2012 4:55 p.m. PST

Really cool stuff – useful for Sci Fi and Fantasy!

earthad02 Feb 2012 7:15 p.m. PST

love them!

Big Ian02 Feb 2012 11:26 p.m. PST

Awesome! Armoured Hounds, how cool are they, they look like they could be useful for Ghost Buster type games.
I like the fact they aren't humaniod type infantry as well.
Can wait to get some metal one.

Kealios03 Feb 2012 12:18 a.m. PST

Dont cross your fingers while youre holding them! You might smoosh the greens!

Longstrider03 Feb 2012 4:38 a.m. PST

Those hounds and horses are REALLY cool. I really like them conceptually, and I think your sculptor has done a good job on them. 6mm sculpting is a bit different since the proportions need to be… chunkier? for the eye to really pick up on the ideas at that distance, and I think these have done a fantastic job with that.

I'm never been a big fan of the bughunt style of narratives, but I like having random non-Earther domesticated types for sci-fi worlds for battles around farms or in the wild. Dogs and horses are cool; I hope at some point there might be some cattle-equivalents too.

Now hurry up and get that Plasmablast Synthetic force for FUBAR back in stock so I can order them and the Krayts! :P

Me too.
These things will not make me rich but hopefully they will help fill a void in peoples collections.

I am sure the bugs excrete some useful/valuable substance and can be farmed as such.
Maybe the worms are their natural predator so the bug farms are under threat from these near indestructible hunters and bug farmers are also worm hunters.

Never easy life on the new frontier is it?

Alas the supplier has no synthetics left and they need to be cast up for him before he can send them to me, so they could be a while yet.

As for things to come, there will be civilians and more beasties.

I will also be offering some more FUBAR ready made packs, but these will be a bit different to what is available right now.

Things are busy at AB HQ!

Paul S03 Feb 2012 5:27 a.m. PST

Michael,

Can we pre-order as I'd like some of each?

Paul

Angel Barracks03 Feb 2012 6:16 a.m. PST

Not yet I am afraid.
Until they are at the casters and they determine how many fit in a mould and how much lead each mould uses and all of that I am not able to set prices or pack sizes.

Hopefully not too long though until that is sorted.

TheCount03 Feb 2012 10:12 a.m. PST

thumbs up

Bum I thought I was the first to bring out this type of 6mm armoured worm, armoured hound and bipedal alien horse.

That will learn me!
