My goodness that is an amazing paint job, especially in 15mm. I'm stunned by the quality of the painting and figures.

Mr Barton has always done great figures, and it's certainly nice to see him doing more of them. I don't do 15s or 18s anymore, but if I did, they would certainly be ABs.

I do find it tragic he doesn't do 25/28s and that these 15/18s won't be available in plastics (now, plastic would temp me to get back into that scale) but that would be expecting him to surpass perfection.

Mr Canuck22 Feb 2012 9:16 a.m. PST

Yes please – seconding the 28mm please! Would love to have some of these for my War of 1812 project!

epturner22 Feb 2012 10:00 a.m. PST

Same here. Always need more help keeping Cousin Jonathan out of Upper Canada.

Lovely figures.

Havent you 28mm fanatics got enough juicy figs to choose from!! AB is all we poor 15mm beggars have to be proud of, leave Mr Barton alone to his important work, he does not need to be disturbed by spoiled brats crying "can we have some more sir, more!more!..but please make them in 28mm sice like everyone else does"…;)

VonBlucher22 Feb 2012 11:03 a.m. PST

Or we ould ask the Perry Twins to do 18mm in plastic as an add on to AB's 18mm.

Splendid stuff. Forget about comparing them to 28s -- I think his 15s and 20s are better than most 28s.

wehrmacht22 Feb 2012 12:34 p.m. PST

Outstanding.

Sparker22 Feb 2012 1:18 p.m. PST

The best news in 15/18mm for a long, long time!

Huzzah!

If you live in the States and will not be attending Salute the Waterloo figures will be available from Eureka Miniatures USA on the same date. Feel free to send preorders and I will send you an invoice you can pay via paypal or credit card when they are ready to ship.

They are lovely looking figures!

Lord Hill23 Feb 2012 2:41 p.m. PST

The WW2 Arnhem range are certainly miles better than most of their 25mm/28mm counterparts!

You can already get these and more at Campaign Game Miniatures who have a much larger Waterloo range.

Better figures and sculpts in my opinion without the scale creep.

Campaigner, (the man who owns CGM),
I think this could be the record for least classiest post on a hobby news item.

Campainger, when you say you can get "these" (AB figures, the subject of this thread), at CGM, I have to disagree. I appreciate how much you admire Tony Bartons work, that you want to sell it too, but AB figures are only available from Euereka Miniatures, Eureka Miniatures USA and Fighting15s. The Waterloo British will only be available from 21st April 2012 and only from the the three designated outlets.

Agree – poor form to jump on somebody else's news release.

Bit of a cheap shot there from campaigner.

Start your own thread.

Fat Wally25 Feb 2012 4:04 a.m. PST

Very, VERY poor form.

One manufacturer neatly crossed off the potential ranges to buy list.

Timmo uk25 Feb 2012 5:42 a.m. PST

Ditto.

Supercilius Maximus25 Feb 2012 8:50 a.m. PST

Nic,

What does this mean for the existing Eureka 18mm Waterloo range – will this be retired?

Will Tony be doing post-Bardin French as well?

Could I also respectfully suggest that now is possibly the time for Tony to make a new set of horses to match the larger riders of his later ranges.

Nic Robson26 Feb 2012 4:07 p.m. PST

Supercilius Maximus, the existing Eureka range will not be retired.
Tony has mentionen Bardin French, but no date. If you come along to Salute this year, you will be able to ask him about both them and the horses.

VonBlucher26 Feb 2012 5:44 p.m. PST

Nic,
Are there any chances Anthony will fill out any missing figures from existing ranges? Like Early French & Russian artillery men in greatcoats, and a few others.

John

Nic Robson26 Feb 2012 7:31 p.m. PST

John, early Russian artillery in great coats have been made, hopefully horse artillery will follow and we will get them into the release schedule.
I will suggest the early French artillery in great coat and see what happens.

Thanks. See you both there!
