Like those French Grens!

I bit more effort on research would be appreciated, the gaiters – much to loose fitting, the officers sabre more like a kitchen knife, I cannot see rings on the musket, and the coat looks more like a cut of the 7YW than AWI, but maybe they should depict 7YW?? There seems to be a regression to existing ranges and please compare for example with the Perrys.

I will paste this link onto the designers FB page. He does seem to use the same doll's for most of his troops. I recall early on he had all the British infantry in boots :)

I still like these and the best thing for me is that he has attached the arms so I don't have to pick out the right ones to print, or glue on personally.

Frankly I could go Olde School and use the same figure for all of my armies and just change the colors of the uniforms but that is just me.

Thank you for you input though, always helpful.

Chris

Yeah, I'm very happy he is now creating monopose figs. The individual arms were a pain.

Thanks

I know John. He is slowly redoing his existing miniatures and anything new comes out in both formats.

He plans on starting with his 7YW Austrians.

It would appear that the seller is rather indifferent regarding the accuracy of the uniform. To be honest, that seems odd for someone selling allegedly historical figures.
And his answer to these concerns is to post on the designer's Facebook. Is that the ONLY input the seller has? "Metal" companies, most notably Perry, have the designer on staff. In this case, it's one of the owners.
Prices being comparable, I know where I'll be buying AWI French from.

Ah, but the arms no require assembly.

Troiani has an indication of French Grens having wrinkles in their gaiters, perhaps there are others. Not to the extent found on these figures, yet maybe these were made differently or seen better days after campaigning or both.

Ah, lets double check the buttons.

Different strokes.

I have some new French AWI Hussars that you going to just hate :)

If the figures are being remodeled, I would love it if there was a version that could be scaled to 15mm. Main difference would be a thicker musket and bayonet – something less likely to break at the smaller scale.

I have not had a great deal of luck with 15mm minis. Very labor intensive and kind of fragile as well.
