Acheson has been killin' it lately. They're really fast and good communicators too. I wish I had more need for animals!

Alright! Now, I won't have to convert an African rhino.

My husband and I watched something on PBS about the ivory poachers and the paramilitary units who patrol the game preserves. I was quite surprised to see the poachers are armed to the teeth. In some recent firefights, they even had RPG's and heavy machine guns, so the men who guard the animals are likewise armed.

Anyway, he was talking about setting up a skirmish game based on that. Maybe 28mm…Any suggestions for rules and figures?

Would there be more options in 20mm?

For animals, start with Irregular Miniatures – though other options are opening up. If you want to keep cost down and have 'more space' you can go with 15 mm – and, again, start with Irregular Miniatures (where you can find some nice hunter figures and lots of Colonial options, like Masai).

If you are going modern, I'm less of a help for figures but I'd start with Rebel Miniatures in 15 mm. Maybe Khurasan but less sure about that.

Oh, and don't forget Acheson – some fine offerings here, too. Though they need more in 15 mm to tempt me in any way.
