I've reached the point where I'm selling off the collection. It comes under the title of saving it from the bin.

The decision of what to sell is based on what has had little to no use in this century.

One of the first of the core collection was some British colonial figures for the North West Frontier. All lots sold on the first pass.

The first pass was a TSATF Gurkha company (around 50 figures). The second pass was three lots – 2 lots of afghan 100 to 120 figures and an Indian company of foot, lancer platoon, and some other figures.

My inclination now is to only list one group each week or so and not batch up the lots and list them at the same time.

What are your thoughts?

If the main goal is to avoid the bin, price them to move.

So if you're selling off lots of about 50 figures, price them at $100. USD

I would batch them. I prefer to buy forces not units. So I'd pass on a company of British, but would look at 3 companies, a battery and a squadron of cavalry. Knowing you have them all inclines me top look/buy.

the key here is price to sell, I've watched collections sit because the guys selling them way overprice – the painted miniature market is depressed and over saturated. As a painter I only do commission work, trying to sell figures I painted you almost have to give them away.

15mm priced above $1 USD will not sell, and 28mm priced over $3 USDor4 will not sell – unless you get really lucky.

Try to find a local gaming convention and sell as a vendor or in the flea market – but remember to price to sell.

Best of luck.

Some items just don't sell. Cut your prices. Give them away to friends .
