Hey, I just got a great deal on some 'Shyft' figures from the D&D Omens boosters???
they have 4-arms and tails for balance
but would make 'tolerable' (if smaller 'Barsoomians') and the another vendor had Ethereal Maruaders
for .89USD apiece! (they look like the two-legged/running form of 'grabboids' from TERMORS??? Just thought I'd 'share' my find/suggestions for some 'extra' VSF/Pulp-Sword and Planet-type critters
as the they could be used for 'Venusians' or Jasoomians/whatever Barsoomians call Venus or whatever
I've got the most excellent 'Dead Earth' stuff from Bronze Age Miniatures
and also some of the other 'space 1880-ish' stuff from Parroom Station and got some Black Hat Cephlods coming too
(as well as making some of my own)
but thought the 'Shyft-critters'
(there's more than one type
but several have the 'double torso/4-arms' type body
)
and 'Marauders' were 'pulpy' enough for VSF or Pulp??? I think Ebay seller was Herotown for some of the stuff

Ethereal Maruaders are definitely on my "to buy" list for Mars. I think at least three are required for a decent pack. Off now to search the net for these "Shyft" blighters you're on about. Thanks for the tip off. |

Try looking under the OMENS figure lots for D&D
the Shyft are called more than one thing
but you'll recognize them when you see them
blue and 4-arms/double torso's like Barsoomians
etc
The marauders are just plain fun
for Pulp, VSF or 'horror' if you want to play a 'Tremors' game
(the purple worm from D&D makes fine 'underground graboid' as is, but some epoxy mods can make tri-mouth cover
(ala DUNE)
and Reaper sells some 'baby' versions in one of their familiars sets

I also suggest if you're looking for 'alternate barsoomian types'
besides the Mage Knight Shyft Fiend set(three levels)
and Mage knight Darkfen Blade and the Fang Worm from the OMENS booster set that you also pick up a couple of 'Slag Trolls' #47? from Mage knight (four-armed apeish things)
3-6 of the Etheral Marauders from D&D 'Blood Wars' booster sets
and Purple Worm from D&D (large figure) and then Reaper has 'mini-familiars' of it in one of their familiars sets
Add to that some of the Hive Pincers from Dream Blade
for insectoid types/Selenites??? and Reaper also has a couple "mantis" types and bits for the heads in their boneyard as well
Actually, going thru the D&D figures via ebay or several internet stores
(also Mage knight stuff)
I've found a variety of fairly 'inexpensive' critters that could easliy pass for 'barsoomian/VSF 'Sword and Planet' denizens
and for decent prices of multiple copies
Now I want to try to clix-bash a 4-armed 'hulk' into a 'hormand' from Ras Thravas's Lab!!! 8-) Just thought I'd 'share'
