Wow. And Science Channel has "Death of the Iceman" and "Mystery of the Human Hobbit"!

LOL! Hopefully you have enough tapes to record them, CC.

No, CC, turn off the TV! Look away! For you, this is like freebasing cocaine! :)

It's not exactly the same show as Monsters We Met.

MWM was 3 x 50 minute shows ('The Burning' on Australia, 'The Eternal Frontier' on North America, and 'The End of Eden' on New Zealand and modern extinctions). They'll run at 1 hour long when non-BBC commerical TV has stuffed the ad breaks in.

LOLM is 1 x 90 minute show, re-cut from the above, which runs at 2 hours with the ads stuffed in.

MWM take home message: Bloody hell, we'd better stop killing big animals or there'll be none left.

LOLM take home message: We've conquered Earth! Onward to the stars!

MWM also makes more of the various aboriginal peoples as characters in a drama, while LOLM gives you less chance to get to know them, but has additional pub facts on the animals.

Thanks for clearing that up!

If I get one of them on DVD, chances are it will be the longer version, despite of the different message.

If you ever see MWM available on DVD, can you let me know? BBC Worldwide promised the whole production team DVDs if/when they released it, but nothing has ever been forthcoming.

Here is the original BBC reply to the DVD question:
