Hi My family and I are in the process of buying a house near Verlez Malaga and I was wondering if there are any wargamers or clubs in the area? My main wargaming interests these days are The Rif War (Morocco 1919-26) and French Colonial North Africa. I also have a large WW2 set up with late war forces for Germans, US, British & US airborne. I`m sorry but at present – soy habla espanol un poceto! I`m presently the editor for the SOTCW (Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers) magazine The Journal. for more details on the SOTCW and the mag please check out our website – sotcw.net Richard Baber |

HA! Lived in San Pedro de AlLcantara for a year or so. It is right down the road from Puerto Banus. Also, visited Torremolinos and Fuengirola many times. Great part of the world for sure. Was there for a big plane crash in '82 and later many times through the 80's. Too bad I am not there, we could game for sure. Beautiful ocean views and laid back atmosphere. Amazing international population from Germany, Britain, Belgium, Turkey and the like. Great place! Congrats! T |

I went to Nerja a couple of times with my Mum and Dad about 25+ years ago. We stayed in the El Capistrano complex. Very nice it was too. I understand that it is now very developed with the valley running down to Burianna (sp?) beach filled with Villas. It was still countryside then with lots of wild rosemary growing. |

Wonderful area, we like Nerja a lot. On Friday (Dec 8th) spent the whole day on Buriana with my boys playing in the sea, whilst me and the wife sat basking in the winter sun – excellent. Our house is further south near Verlez Malaga, up above a little village very country, it will be a nice place for my boys to grow up. |

Long time since this thread died but I too am looking for wargamers in Malaga where some of my family have relocated. I'll be spending time there this year especially over the winter and would hope to wargame while I am there. I'm into historical wargaming and I'm a longstanding member of the Wargames Club here in Aberdeen. Any Spanish wargamers with info that would help me? |

1ngram & Savitas I'll be moving to Iznate (fingers crossed) in the next few months. I'll be getting my own wargames room for the first time – so no excuses whatsoever to play. As for gaming – mostly 15mm Napoleonics with GdeB. Malc |

We're thinking of moving to Spain in the New Year – somewhere coastal (and preferably cheap) but not yet sure where, however the presence of wargamers/ clubs will be a factor. We like big games and have extensive collections for WW2 (54 & 28mm Europe, 20mm Burma/Malaya) ACW (fairly huge 28mm armies) Medieval (28mm) Vietnam (28mm) and various smaller collections too. Any advice/suggestions would be welcome. |

Sorry for the delay Gaz…we've been away a lot recently. We'll check out Almeria accordingly. Current thinking is to look for a rental house with a very large room/outbuilding for obvious purposes. If we can have a 30 x 6 foot table that'd do nicely! If you know of any estate agents let us know. There must surely be more wargamers in the area? |

UFB- no probs been busy too, This is a link to a Spanish site that may be of interest, use with a map to locate the areas -it will at least give a comparison between sources (private listings and via estate/property agencies etc) link There was a convention of sorts in July,a very hot sports hall filled with FOW 15mm and 28mm fantasy…..another one more modelling based in the spring in a hotel in Almeria that I'll be exploring…. |
