I want to scratchbuild the chapel for my IMEX 20mm Mexicans- does anyone have a good line drawing of the front? Or a really good photograph?

This is a photo my brother took while he was visiting Texas last Christmas – hopefully it's of some use:

I have just what you need. send me your email address and I will send you some plans you can scale to suit.

I was planning on doing the same thing, but bought the Hudson and Allen model instead. I'm ashamed to say it's still in it's box.

FYI – some of the images above are accurate and others contain a common flaw that only true rivet-counters would complain about.

For those who want their model to be as accurate as possible, the images that show a double set of windows on the outside edges (one ont he lower floor, and another on the upper floor in-line with those alcoves) are wrong. Those upper-story windows on the outside edges did not exist at the time of the siege. Those were added many years after the battle (and can be seen in the excellent photo provided by Guinny).

I believe the very first link (from the alamo movie site) is the most accurate.

Oh, I'll quickly add this info comes from an alamo site dedicated to the history of the mission. It included a line drawing/sketch of the facade, and noted that the current upper windows were added later. If TMP were not shutting down in one minute I'd dig out the link!

Ah … here is that link I promised:

thealamo.org/main.html

That's the main site. Lots of good info here, well researched, plenty of biblio info for those who want to pursue this further.

To find the mission facade diagram, head to Education then select Lesson Plans. Towards the bottom is an intro titled Building A Model Of The Alamo, selecting "Next" at the bottom takes you to the, well, next page, and THAT page has the facade, complete with dimension notations.

Here's a direct link to that page:

thealamo.org/building1.html

You can continue on by selection "Next" again, and see top-down floorplans of the mission and the entire complex if you keep going.

This was the best site on the alamo I've ever run across.
