Howdy!

Are there any suitable minis in 25/28mm for Kzinti (ala Larry Niven)? I saw some Traveller Alsan years back from Grenadier, and they were so-so.

Thanks!

Ken

Eureka has a few catgirl pirates (also carried by Ground Zero Games) but they are rather cartoony. Reaper has a couple of weretigers that would work if you sculpted clothing onto them (probably easier to sculpt cat heads on other minis).

My vote for Kzinti stand-in is the "Yuzzem" figure from the Star Wars CMG. That is what I bought them for! Available from on-line dealers, and not very expensive.

There was a set, I think RAFM made them, taken from a (Larry Elmore?) cover of a Kzinti novel. There was one male in power armor with a rifle, one male in power armor pants, with a knife, and one female in…nothing. The female is about the size of a 28mm human, maybe a touch taller. The males are head-and-shoulders taller than that.

The detailing was okay on the males, the poses were a little static. The full-suited male had his visor up so you could see his face. The details on the female were better. I'll try to dig them up tomorrow and post a better review.

Ah, I remember those. They were done by Ral Partha.

Howdy,

Do you remember the name of the box/pack or the name of the line? Are they still in production from RP Europe or the US?

Thanks!

Rafm did some Traveller Aslan figs for the TNE era books (early to mid 1990s) but they were smallish for todays figs. I believe they offered 3 poses. They are no longer in production.

Amarillo Design Bereau is working on some minis for thier Star Trek-based Prime Directive RPG. There were some pics of Klingon greens on their forums awhile back. Since Kzinti are a part of ADB's Trek Universe I'd bet they'll produce some minis before too long.

The Ral Partha figures were called The Seductress. It was a threesome – space suited male with weapon, male with weapon, and female. IIRC the female is about 30mm and the males are probably 35mm. I purchased the set mail order right before Ral Partha imploded.

For some reason, wolves are much more popular. I'm working on some modular, digigrade aliens. So, with head and tail swaps could be Aslan, Kzinti, something else.
