It's Gallerific!! I cannot think of one Roman general that wouln't be proud to put those barbarians to flight. -Joe |

What company made the minis? I just got a copy of Warmaster Ancients and have been mulling around the idea of building an army or two. |

Wow. From someone who paints 10mm warmaster figs, that is just an amazing amount of detail to paint on them. I stand in awe. But, I would like to know who made the miniatures. They look like magister militum, but I can't tell for sure. Matt |

I would SO love to be able to get my Romans finished for Warmaster. I am not too terribly fond of the system, but it gives a decent enough game and the armies just look good. I have a few mods for it that make for a little better game, and allow for multiple sized units (without breaking the system)

Clibinarium, The level of detail you put in 10mm is quite extraordinary and show of real craftmanship. As far as I am concerned, I don't paint that level of detail anymore. I found out it doesn't make any difference. The overall aspect is what matters (that gets me first painting prize in tournaments sometimes). So no more three levels of layering, no more muscles painting. They still look good when you hold them at 60cm from your eyes
10mm is a difficult scale to find the right level of detail. |

Yep your'e right, but I treat 10mm as I would the larger scales, as I don't have the space or money for 28mm or even 15mm. I agree its overkill to some extent. I just apply the same techniques I use on larger scales. They cost arround GBP 1.80 per fig, so they were beyond what most people would want for their figs! The army is a mix of Pendraken and Magister Militum, and as you can see they mix perfectly within units. |

Clibinarium, I really like your work, and I am sure I would like it the same if you were tuning down the details :-) One comment: I found out that a medium dark brown undercoat works very well for barbarians/Romans. I used black on my Normans. Anyway, thanks Clib, you gave me some motivation to continue my Romans: 48 figs in 3 hours
I wasn't satisfied with a handful of figures that had a bit flesh color on the helmets or clothes. I put the stick on the table I saw nothing! So I gave up the correction phase :-) I'll be watching your work Clibi. Thanks for posting. |
