I'd LOVE to know the answer to this one. : ) I saw a photo of the Harbinger greens and the painted figures, and figured they might have been really close to some sort of production run. Who actually did the sculpting? Is there any way to contact that individual and find out where they are now? Steve |
Lowtardog | 02 Sep 2006 2:55 a.m. PST |
Me too, I have been watching the Witchhunter adventure forum for any further news. The new evolution figures were very promising too but their site was dead. They also had a promising set of rules in development "your zombie ate my gun fighter but alas no more news. :0( |
13blackravens | 06 Sep 2006 3:04 p.m. PST |
I know the guy who sculpted some of that stuff if Its the one Im thinking of. C'mon someone must know more
|
SeattleGamer | 06 Sep 2006 6:43 p.m. PST |
13blackravens . . . your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to contact this supposed "guy" you know, and ask him what the BLEEP is going on with those sculpts? If he denies knowing anything about the figures, you are hereby authorized to "pursuade" him to remember. naturally, if you are caught, we will disavow any knowledge of your mission. This post will self-destruct in 5 seconds. Good luck 13. (pop, fizzle, smoke) |

The Bad News: The Griffin Miniatures zombies have been put on hold for the time being. (Boooo!) The Good News: The reason for this is they are concentrating on the relaunch of Harbinger Magazine. (Yayyyy!). Once this is up and running (in approx. two weeks), the focus will shift back to the zombies and the accompanying game

Thanks Mr Crow! Damn delays for our precious zombies!!! Dont they know who we are
erm
..US DAMMIT!!! ,,,Ack its good news thats its prgressing at least! Any links for news on progress fellow eater of the dead Mr crow type guy? Regarding my mission. The reason ( if this is the same guy but hes offline at the mo) was he got screwed with pay ( as in here it is! no we're lying) so he didnt continue. Its not fair to jump in with both boots till I find out more. I dont want to say its this company for definate as it may be the wrong one and its unfair to slur. Ill see what the crack is and let you know when I know. P.s What scale were they? |
SeattleGamer | 07 Sep 2006 10:58 a.m. PST |
They were 28mm IIRC. I try and keep track of all 28mm zombie figs, and the fact that I downloaded the photos of the Harbinger greens and the painted samples means they were very, very likely 28mm. I cannot guarantee it. There's a chance they were a little larger (30-32mm), but those bases just look like typical 25mm round to me. Can't imagine them being 25m or less and can't imagine them being 35mm or larger. So my money is 28mm-30mm. |
13blackravens | 08 Sep 2006 1:04 a.m. PST |
The ones he was doing was wild west style. odern 40mm plus so not same , apologies. |
Lowtardog | 08 Sep 2006 1:41 a.m. PST |
The New evolution stuff was 28mm modern and they had a big fat zombie and a redneck zombie if memory serves me right. but you could be right about wild west thinking on as their rules were Your zombie ate my gunfighter! |
Carrion Crow | 08 Sep 2006 5:20 a.m. PST |
13 blackravens: I personally know the head honcho of Griffin/Harbinger, so I contacted him directly. As I want some of those fine zombies for myself, I will be regularly pestering him until they are released. So, as soon as I know more, I'll post it here. |

I WANT ZOMBIES NOW! Those Harbinger minis are a must buy! I don't know what happened to New Evolution
.?I tried contacting them but they just disappeared. I managed to download the sample of "Oh **** Your Zombie Ate my Gunfighter" and it actually looked like it would be very good. Shame! PM |

Yeah, waiting sucks! It will be a real shame if those zombies never see a mold and hit the production stage. They looked awsome! |

Robert here from New Evolution Studios, seems I've lost my password to my old account. This thread may be dead, but I just wanted to chime in that New Evolution Studios is not(well sorta Undead if you will). We are currently seeking out a new sculptor as the last one bolted with his advance payment and we have not heard from him since January of this year. So if anyone hears from Kenaz Raynor, please have him contact me, I want my greens. Otherwise, we are still working on getting this project together and hopefully will have new updates soon. Thank you for your kind words. Robert Founder- New Evolution Studios |
SeattleGamer | 06 Nov 2006 8:47 p.m. PST |
Thanks Robert for the update. Just so you know, those of us who seek out new zombie figures do so relentlessly. This thread will never die : ) It may get infrequent updates, but until we get those minis we will shamble after you : ) So keep those updates coming!!! |

Look forward to seeing more on the game too Cheers |
soulman | 07 Nov 2006 9:18 a.m. PST |
Question is the game just a few pages in the mag, or will it be something to buy, with lots of pages etc
Any ideas people |
Lowtardog | 07 Nov 2006 1:05 p.m. PST |
I hope you get your greens or your money back. Best of luck with New Evolution |
Johnny Aces | 07 Nov 2006 3:33 p.m. PST |
The game will be a complete book in and of itself. Although not yet full completed, I'm estimating the number of pages complete at about 80-100 with story/fluff and artwork. As much as I hate to use another company's product when describing mine, it'll be about Codex size. Pretty much lost all hope of getting the greens or my money. I tracked him to an Ebay address where he denied knowing me, now that Ebay address hasn't been used and there have been no posting on any sites from his real name or his alias(SteelDog51). I've dealt with it in my own mind and have just counted it as a loss. I did get two greens from him(which were excellent quality) but we have to start over with a new sculptor so they are useless(they are a slightly different scale). Thanks all for your well wishes and I hope that I can provide you all with a quality product. As soon as I get a more polished version of the Game done, I will post it here for your viewing pleasure. Thanks again. |

why not auction the greens off could get back some of your money |
Johnny Aces | 07 Nov 2006 4:18 p.m. PST |
That's not a bad idea, Lowtardog. I'll keep that in mind. |
soulman | 07 Nov 2006 4:46 p.m. PST |
Thanks Big fish on the game info, i`m so looking for a real 28mm zombie system, which is not 3 pages long etc
. I keep my eyes peeled for your future updates All the best Alan |
SeattleGamer | 07 Nov 2006 9:48 p.m. PST |
Big Fish
you don't need any proof-readers or play testers do you : ) |
Johnny Aces | 08 Nov 2006 3:23 p.m. PST |
Actually, I could use a few playtesters. I have a very basic watered down version of the rules that I would gladly send you if you want to give it a shot and let me know what you think. I'll even credit you in the book when I finally get it published. Anyone interested please just drop me an email at bigfish229@gmail.com |
Pappa Midnight | 08 Nov 2006 4:02 p.m. PST |
Big Fish: Real shame about the zombies ( I loved the fat guy and the brain eater). As I said I've got the original free download you had of "Oh **** your zombie ate my gunfighter" and it looked very well done. I'm really pleased you are continuing with the project. Good luck! PM |
Johnny Aces | 08 Nov 2006 6:01 p.m. PST |
Papa, thanks for the kind words. The book will look similar but will most likely contain all new artwork. Brain Eater was one of the greens I received. Unfortunately, he will most likely never see production. I wish I had gotten the Fat Guy as well as he was one of my favorites also. I'm glad to see there are still those of you out there that are interested. I hope OSYZAMG can live up to all of your expectations. |
SeattleGamer | 08 Nov 2006 9:42 p.m. PST |
I sent you an email Big Fish! : ) I don't understand though about the greens you received not being usable because they are a slightly different scale. If they were not sculpted to the scale you wanted, then okay (if you were looking for 28mm and the guy gave you terrific 25mm then I can understand). But if they were the scale you wanted, and your next sculptor will also be producing figures in that scale, then why would they not work together? |
Johnny Aces | 09 Nov 2006 1:53 p.m. PST |
Well, it's odd. I originally wanted 28mm scale and what the sculptor gave me is what he refered to as 28mm "true" scale. The minis end up being about an inch and a half tall instead of an inch. I suppose I could use them as a guide for the new sculptor, I just thought it may be easier to start fresh rather than place odd restrictions on my new sculptor. Since my sculptor situation is still up in the air, I will try to find someone who can mimic the scale. I get to use the two greens I received, you guys still get Brain Eater and Kill Billy in your Zombie Hordes. |
SeattleGamer | 09 Nov 2006 4:54 p.m. PST |
Oh wow! Okay, that is quite a bit off. The industry standard is to measure to the eye-level of the figure (a tradition from way back, when helmets were tall shako thingys and often the top of the head was not visible). So a 28mm figure was 28mm from bottom of feet to eye level. Figure another 2-3mm for the rest of the top of the head and the actual figure might stand 30-32mm tall (depending on the headwear). If there is a molded on base that doesn't count. A mini that stands 1.5" tall makes it roughly 37mm tall, which is about 34mm to eye-level. That's not a 28mm mini or even close. I can see why you might need to shelve them : ( |
Johnny Aces | 09 Nov 2006 5:47 p.m. PST |
Don't get me wrong, they are very well done and I just hope that I can find another sculptor with that skill(but better moral character). They are big enough to have alot of details but still small enough to work with. I just worry about the new sculptor and how he would feel about following in another sculptor's footsteps. I guess it will all depend on the personal attitude of the new sculptor I recruit and how he feels about the work. |
