Just dropped by local Comic Shop, 'Asylum Video and Comics' in Marietta and found out he'd just 'emailed' me to let me know Dark Horse 'Serenity' Ornament/display model was IN!

Wow…having been waiting for this item since two months BEFORE APRIL 19th…(when it was originally due out…) I finally got it in my hot little hands! Yummie!

Ok, it's NOT a 'dinky toy' or 'matchbox' or 'snaptite model'…it's a solidcast resin? plastic kit…pre-assembled and pre-painted and comes with a hook/string to hang on your Holiday Tree, etc…or put on the enclosed display stand with post for underside of ship.

For the 'completeist'…it probably leaves something to be desired and the small resin kit from MiniModelMadness might be an option if you want to superdetail a resin kit, (as I have) or there is the $80+ kit from the UK/Fed Models? for larger collectors…or one of the 'free' paper kits previously listed her in earlier threads on TMP…

But for me…this is the 'right size' and just the right 'detail' and quality for either display or as a 'conversation piece' in a SERENITY RPG…I got the novel, the comic, the movie book, the RPG, screen and some other stuff coming soon…and have most of the websites 'bookmarked'…

Now I gotta get my 'duster' ordered…(for Christmas of course)…in the meantime, I need to go put the soundtrack CD's on my player so I can 'get my calm enhanced'….

'Can't take the sky from me, pardner!'..

Sgt DWW…taking an 'tenticular time-out' for some 'Serenity'…

At GenCon the Hickman's were there signing the expansion for the RPG game. I can now kick myself for not asking if they are going to do some fiction novels!!! Since they write books and all.

So, are there any websites with pics of the Dark Horse ornament? You have me curious now.

Thanks Kayl!

That is a quite nice looking version.

Sorry I didn't provide link with my review, but thanks to KM for doing so!

But whether you're a 'collector' or gamer…for the price, it's a SWEET piece of work…(I got one for gaming/display' and 'one for the Tree'!..next to my Star Trek/Star Wars Ornaments!)…*sigh*…

Happiness is a SCIFI Christmas TREE…(now to sculpt a TENTACLE beast for THIS year…8-)

Bought it….God I buy everything. It would appear to work with 1/285 scale (I cut the Christmas tree ornament fixture). Nothing special as paint jobs go but fun to have.
