Mal(Guardian,Hornblower or was it Jericho) from the Teen Titans had an black girlfriend who was a superheroine named Bumblebee for a brief time. If live action movies count; then we have the very impressive, black version of The Kingpin in the Daredevil movie. Didn't Spiderman have a black opponent (he wasn't really a criminal) named The Beetle? Green insect costume, big sucker tipped gauntlets. |

Also, I believe I read somewhere that Black Lightning now has a daughter 'in the business' named Thunder. There was a black superhero named Brother Voodoo I seem to recall-Marvel Universe I think. |

Thanks guys. And, not getting political, but I don't blame the guy for grudgingly buying the Spider-Man 2 DVD for his kid. If I were a Black Man, I'd like there to be a few more superheroes that looked like me. ——————— You guys hit a BUNCH I had forgotten. Thanks. I had forgotten Tyroc and Mal's brief superhero career (as well as Bumblebee's). Black Lightning, Bishop, and Green Lantern were my major omissions. Blade is not really a superhero because he fights vampires, not crimes. Slight difference. Black Lightning's did have a daughter, but she was murdered a year or two back in the new Green Arrow comic books. Thanks for the research, guys! |

I didn't read the entire thread. But did anyone mention Spawn? Cyborg (Teen Titans). What should have been said is; "If the guy does good deeds, who cares if he is black or white?" |

Rattlehead, Cable is white I'm afraid. I'm sure one of the others in the six pack were black though. |

Oh, ok
I wasn't sure. I know I've seen someone who looked like Cable (muscular with cyber-bits) who was black, but I don't recall when or where. |

The Brown Hornet was popular with Fat Albert and the gang. Somebody beat me to Frozone. Don't for get Undercover Brother and the members of B.R.O.T.H.E.R.H.O.O.D. |

"The Milestone Comics imprint was published by DC Comics. The characters existed outside the "regular" DC universe. It had a distinctive look and brand identity, but the imprint died in the comics implosion of the late '90s." Darn shame, too, there were a lot of good titles under that imprint. Icon and Hardware were my personal favorites, but they all had their good points. Xombi was nearly as bizarre as Doom Patrol for a while there. Really a pity that sheer bad timing (the 90's implosion) killed them off
well, except for Static, who was never high on my list. Sigh

Da-Blink and Elastra from the Wyrd City Chronicles come to mind. They're also a couple of the characters included in Capes & Cowls, an interesting miniatures/board game hybrid set in the Wyrd City universe. |

"Smokey Roan" was one of my favorite black Superhero's (Obviously) when growing up in the 80's!!! I thought Iron Man was black as well. |
