I plan on collecting a variety of bugs even kit bashing a few one of a kind. What manufacturers make bugs / xenomorphs? So far I have.

1. Games Workshop

2. Mongoose

3. Kryomek

4. EM-4

5. Black Tree Design (Revok)

6. Fenryl

7. Ed at Two Hour War Games uses plastic toy bugs from various sources. I would use some if they were cool enough.

8. WizKids Aliens in Horror clicks

Can anyone add to the list?

"SNOWMAN returns
Mr Zarquon, still beating the dead horse I see…"

Must be an American horse. When ours are dead, you KNOW it.

Darn bug! Not the kind you're looking for though.
Try 1st Corps too for a mini bug.

Irregular's Spice Lice link make good armed bugs. Ignore the paint job in their pictures my great grand children can do those figs better than that.

doesn't GZG have a bug type race?

Big Miller Bro29 Jul 2006 1:31 p.m. PST

I have a bug builder set that is being worked up by Bronze Age and might be used by THW for their games- mix and match bug bits that will create a variety of crawlers and flying bugs

Dragon Gunner29 Jul 2006 2:08 p.m. PST

Thanks guys I was looking for bugs without guns I should have clarified that.

@Big Miller Bro

I am intrigued by the bug builder set you mentioned. Any idea when we might see it or when it might be released?

@ Big Miller Bro – Please! Do tell!

one or two of the marvel heroclix sets have a bug-like alien called brood.

I sculpted up the greens and then sent the set off to David at Bronze Age miniatures last week; a few of the bits need to be made into brass masters before the set is ready. I had 4 heads 4 thorax and 3 abdomen, 4 different 'thick legs', 4 different 'thin legs',a horn/stinger and 2 wings in the set so there is a large variety of combinations possible.

The bits are all joined by 'plug' holes for maximum posing of the bits so you can essentially make any pose an insect is capable of- and some of the bits have extra holes for wings or additional legs (spiders vs insects). Also if the set does well it is easy enough to add new bits to the range.

If Ed at THW likes what he sees then he thought he may add them to his 5150 game along with some Greyliens I did (that David at Bronze Age is ALSO modding up for me to make 5 different poses)

@ Big Miller Bro

Thanks for the update Can't wait to see them on TMP.

Ebbles Minis does bugs in cardstock, if you're interested in a low-cost solution.

Well, if anyone does want bugs with guns, check Stan Johansen Miniatures for 25mm crab0like bugs: very nice!

Kept the Klackons but dumped the other Space Marines (FGU) miniatures…

Oh well, beggers etc.

I wonder if the "Infantry" weapons are separate from the arms like the heavy weapons look to be?

Gracias,

Glenn

The Ravager looks good. I am excited to see the game moving forward with tangible results (miniatures). When will you have enough minatures sculpted to play a game?

IsThereASix05 Feb 2009 3:55 p.m. PST

Add Black Orc Games to your lists – look under The Hive. Lots of cool bugs for your Sci-Fi troops to battle with. Here's the URL – blackorc.com.

D&D Miniatures have some interesting insect types that you could use, too. Spiders, beetles, demons, etc.

Not affiliated with either of the above.
