Yes, but only if you know to look ahead of time. For anyone who doesn't visit TMP, it would probably never occur to them to check before ordering. |

Thanks for the heads up! Joe |

for those that do visit here often this saga is getting old. Why they are still trading is beyond me. Consumer protection law still has a long way to go there. |
daburton | 26 May 2003 9:01 a.m. PST |
They're still trading because they obviously deal with a good portion of their customers in good faith. I'm one who is on the other side of the "saga". I regularly place orders with New wave and I regularly get my orders filled as expected. I know of at least 10 people who also get their orders filled through Newwave with no problem. Yeah, they do ONE thing that is annoying, but not unexpected. If they are out of stock on something, they ship it at a later date. I guess since I know this going in and that everyone I know who deals with them knows this AND accepts it, we've never been let down by New wave. Now I am NOT defending their actions if they have screwed anyone out of product, so don't take this as that. I WILL, however, continue to deal with them because I have never had problems with them. I have seen postings elsewhere as well where others haven't had problems with them either. I think its because they DO service some percentage of their customers on a regular basis with no problem. |

Dab so if a gas station filled most cars but didnt fill a percentage of them and still charged them for the cost of a full tank you would use it? Near enough aint good enough, If they cant meet their claims then they should change em or pull their socks up. |

Um, Daburton you might not know this but it is ILLEGAL to charge someone for goods until you ship them. By chraging customers up front for out of stock goods New Wave is breaking the law. Failing to provide basic informaiton like a confirmation e-mail, an order number, to pick up the phone, or reply to e-mails just makes things worse. This has been going on for years so exucses about being understaffed or high seasonal demand are nonsense. It's nice that someone out that has had good experience with them but that does not in any way excuse New Wave's shoddy and sleazey business practices. |

Guys, Like I said, I do not condone their actions if they have pulled them on you. But for myself, since I have never had problems, yes, I guess that as long as "my car was filled and I wasn't overcharged" I would still use that gas station. I go with what works for me. As for charging for goods, I guess since I come from a town where prepaid preorders are quite common, it doesn't bother me to have to "prepay" for a few items they might not have in stock. We have one game store here that won't even THINK of placing an order for an item unless you pay for it up front. Maybe he's breaking the law, but I guess he got burned too many times that he wants the money beforehand. And yes, on numerous occasions that store took months to get my items to me. Again, this is NOT a defense of Newwave or their practices, simply an explanation for those who don't understand how they stay in business. I know quite a few people that order from Newwave and aside from some 1-2 month delays on out of stock product, none of them are running to do business with someone else (in exclusivity). I guess its this that keeps newwave in business, even with the complaints they have been receiving. Doug |

they are I will admit very hard to get hold of they have sent me stuff i oredered months after and in seperate orders I dont think they are dishonest per say just unorganized and need to practice better business sense and have better communication with customers |
Scurvy | 29 May 2003 8:18 a.m. PST |
what happens when you do get burned dag? will you jump and yell how unfair it is? |
Dances With Words | 29 May 2003 1:49 p.m. PST |
Been there, done that...Sooner or later Dab and co will either get "burned" as others have/are...OR NWMO will "get their stuff together" and service everyone as "well" as he says he is. There are no "half-ways"...They'll either get better or go out of business. I just would like to know HOW NWMO "decides" who gets the "short end of the stick" in how they handle/handled orders. Some folks NEVER seem to have a problem, others ONLY had problems. By the way, on the "exclusive" Masqurade figures I'd TRIED to order from NW, but never got... I contacted the company in Germany, directly and they will sell to me DIRECT and have website shortly. Having an "exclusive" deal for stuff like that only works when you can GET the "exclusive" figures from the "exclusive" dealer. Otherwise...go to the "source"...because they seemed quite EAGER to take my money AND send me the product I pay for...WHAT A CONCEPT! They not only WANT my "business"...but want to KEEP it...?!
