A while ago I remember seeing a very impressive 3d solid model of a victorian steam tank on the web somewhere. It even had pith helmeted figures on top of it. I have been trying to find it all day with no luck. Does anyone have a link.

Was it this one? ths-wargames.de/index.htm That's a great site, and it's full of VSF type stuff.

Are you just looking for a picture reference or the mesh to use with a specific 3D app? If for an app, what file format are you looking for?

there is a digital/composit clip of a steamtank taking out a sniper in a building. Is that the one you are thinking of?

Try museumoftheimprobable.com there is a rather large 3D computer generated image of a VSF land ship complite with figures and various views side on rear vieew etc.

CHANTYAM,

THANKS for that link. Man what inspiration. I see that they had models for sale, but that the ones pictured were OOP. I was confused at reading their web blog were they plastic models or computer models?

I think I'll build that steam tank in either case. It needs to be in the public! VSF'ers demand it!

That steamtank is slightly beyond just wow!

Dewbakuk15 Jul 2006 3:11 p.m. PST

It was purely a CGI model, but it is nice, I've bookmarked the large image.

Anyone recognize the original model in Nazrat's link:

ths-wargames.de/index.htm

Is it one of those Hong Kong sci/fi tanks?

Colonel Hairy Haggis15 Jul 2006 9:30 p.m. PST

Altfritz,

The tank in the foreground is a conversion of a three inch GI-JOE mobile missile launcher. The tank just beyond it is a conversion of a ERTL Star Wars AT-AT. I guess the legs got blown off!

Thanks CHANTYAM museumoftheimprobable was the link I was looking for. I'm planning to try scratch building the tank.

The Colonel has it right, Altfritz. It's a GI Joe Cobra missile tank— I have one I got on Ebay for around ten bucks. It was going to be an Ork Truk, but now it is earmarked to become either a French or German steamship for Volley, Steel, and Flesh. I'm really looking forward to convertiing it!
