I don't know if this sketch will ever see a mini made of it for Rackham's new AT-43 game, but it's very cool nonetheless: link Though the CSO Peacekeepers are closer to my vision of what my sci-fi troops in my game would look like, these are much better aesthetically and personally speaking. Part-Aliens, Part-VOR Union, Part-Starcraft, all cool! I guess time will tell if these will be part of the game. -B6 |

Wow! That's a very nice pic. I agree with you about this being a great representation a "near future" trooper. |

Well this fits the concept I got when they announced it half a decade ago (wow really that long!) better then the minis they had a few month ago. Looks great
lets wait for the complete line! Might be willing to get into something new now that my moderns might see the end of the tunnel
A man always needs 4 unfinished timelines! Cheers, Burkhard |

LOL! Here, here Burkhard! From the minis I've seen for their promo photos and demos, none of them look like this one, so here's to hoping they get wise and add these to the roster. -B6 |

The couple minis they used to demo the game at Origins, and the couple troops in the case, were pretty nice. Still a while off, though, December was the release date. |

I should think that this is indeed a concept for the first generation AT-43 that has since become Paolo Parente's Dust. At least the characters pictured seem to be from Dust. Of course it's still a nice concept, although for the sake of the poor grunt I do hope that armour is powered (-;) Oh, and since CSO Peacekeepers got an advert in "on the side", I'll make a shameless plug too: those looking for "realistic" power armour troops might also want to check out the Assault Troopers from Majestic 12 Games. |

tnjrp 03 Jul 2006 10:34 p.m. PST: "At least the characters pictured seem to be from Dust" Ahem. Had I read the texts on the site, it would've been obvious that they are, no guesswork required. Doesn't quite make certain the trooper is from the "new" AT-43 as opposed to the "old", pre-Dust version, although it would fit better in with the new. |

I would love a figure just like this. I can only hope it becomes available. |

It's hard to tell if the MJ12 Defiance minis are nice looking or not from the little blobs that are pics on the site. Anyone have any bigger pics so I can actually see what these look like??! -B6 |

He has a Red star, tovarich. The prototype guys 2 and 3 are YUM! The girl is UGH! If they keep them all "Metaboaronesque" instead of Confrontation's "this is getting too Disneyesque/cartoony-stoopit", and they are still planing to release them in plastic—even if they are "randomized for increased collecatbility"—chances are I'm going to load of them suckers. |

This line should be pretty solid to raid if you are a Generic sci-fi gamer. I can make use of most of what I've seen. Lets hope the production minis are good quality. |

That is one hell of a turtle suit! Powered, it would be very like the "Hydrocephailc gorilla" of the 'troopers, but even as it is, it certainly looks great – It reminds me a lot of one of the French artists whose name escapes who does such great hardware. And yes, he did do some of the "Metabaron" stories come to think, though I prefer some of his solo work for military vehicles. Mind you, in 6mm, this is going to look a lot like the GZG NSL so it will be a lost in my forces. :) |

Bravo Six 04 Jul 2006 10:35 a.m. PST "It's hard to tell if the MJ12 Defiance minis are nice looking or not from the little blobs that are pics on the site" Well, they do seem to have a low regard for using pictures to sell a product. Maybe because they've never been the sole outlet for any miniatures until now (as far as I know the actual production company Iron Mammoth doesn't do retail any longer and hence won't be displaying these). Having those minis on hand, I'm planning on writing a bit of review (unpainted and with some size comparison shots), so some help may be coming along. Can't say when exactly. |

But these are not going to be 6mm, but rather 30mm or so, I gather
|
| tnjrp | 05 Jul 2006 11:05 p.m. PST |
Maybe it was wishfull thinking (-;) Or else the idea that AT-43 is a mecha game* (as in less-than-30mm scale) is contagious
