Or is anyone planning to do <<Ainu>> in the future?

Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any. But they sound fascinating, particularly their prehistoric origins (surprised?) and possible connections with pacific coast native Americans.

Here are some additional links I found on Google:

Would that be the hairy Ainu?

<snort> ;->

Warmaster Charlie – damn you, that is exactly what I was saying to myself when I read this thread! My recollection of them is as the original ethnic japanese and being described as having more facial hair, hence the description. They were also regarded as rather primitive by the Japanese, who used excessive body/facial hair in art to depict barbarians or roughty-toughty types.

Hmm. Depends on whether they're interesting from a warfare point of view, I guess. There are quite some interesting peoples in northern Asia about which to make figure ranges, but their exploits are so unknown in the West that already from that point of view they would be very risky to bring out as a range.

Don't know about Ainu, but someone may do Emishi if they're not out there yet…
These are useful allies for Samurai armies, so chances that someone decide to invest in it are somewhat better…

Warning: shameless plug ahead!

For the moment, I've done them in 15mm:

Once the WAB supplement for Japan comes out, I suspect there will be more interest.

The word on the WAB Yahoo group today, though, is that the Divine Wind supplement for the Japanese will not include the Ainu, though, so we'll have to hope that some "mountain tribe" approximation is put forth that encourages the development of scenaria featuring them.
