Daleks, Spugs, Mib and UNIT. All muddled together for some multiplayer carnage. Quite good fun really. matakishi.com/area51.htm |

Very well done AAR! It certainly looks like it was an exciting game. |
emanoj | 12 Jun 2006 8:47 a.m. PST |
Neat report! I particularly liked those inset images shot from a differnt angle. |
emanoj | 12 Jun 2006 8:53 a.m. PST |
Btw, how many people (or daleks) are you "matakishi"? I don't think a single human being could have worked on all those wargaming projects listed in your site in less than two years! |
cloudcaptain | 12 Jun 2006 8:58 a.m. PST |
Where'd you score the silver hovercraft/shuttle thingy? |
Matakishi | 12 Jun 2006 8:59 a.m. PST |
emanoj Just me, bimbling along on my own
.. currently finishing off my Prehistoric settlement project before launching into the French Indian War. I like to keep things fresh, stops me getting bored. The rules for Area 51, which will probably be called 'Alien Invasion', will soon be available for free download. If anyone wants to have a game I hope to be running a participation event at this year's Eastbourne show at the end of July. :0) |

cloudcaptain It's an old mattel moon buggy from the 60s that I've stripped and sprayed. (It's not finished. |

alien BLOODY HELL surfer | 12 Jun 2006 12:17 p.m. PST |
arrgh Matakishi – I can't make it :-( I'll have to put up with beer, funny ciggerettes and probably naked women instead. Damn bad timing old bean, making me suffer thusly. |
Matakishi | 12 Jun 2006 1:04 p.m. PST |
That's a shame because I have my own booth babes lined up. Oh well

I can take aliensurfers "portion" Please enlighten the ignorant but what is this "Eastbourne show" and more precisely where? |
Matakishi | 12 Jun 2006 1:55 p.m. PST |
The Eastbourne show is a two day wargames convention held in the Redoubt, a Napoleonic fort, in Eastbourne. It's organised by the local club and there are a small number of traders and several games on show. Redoubt Enterprises are a big prescence there since they are local too. I went last year with my Boxer Rebellion game (all redoubt figures you see) and had an excellent time. 'The Great Seaside Wargames Show at the Redoubt Fortress and Military Museum, Royal Parade, Eastbourne Saturday 29 – Sunday 30 July 2006 £4.00 GBP adults/£2.00 Seniors and under 12s (includes admission to the museum)'. The prices are from last year and so I'm guessing but you get the idea. |

Hi Paul. Are the mediteranean-type buildings in the pics the ones I built for you when you had the shop in Woking? |
Matakishi | 12 Jun 2006 2:20 p.m. PST |
OMG PKS???? If so, they are yours. Actually you made them for Simon Webb and he gave them to me. I added some foliage. |
overlord awc | 12 Jun 2006 2:25 p.m. PST |
Thats me! I also made Simon(I think?) the church from the Alamo and various other stuff. |
Matakishi | 12 Jun 2006 2:31 p.m. PST |
Yes, he doesn't have that any more but I've still got (and treasure) the house based on the picture from the front of the Hovels catalogue. Are you still making buildings? |
overlord awc | 12 Jun 2006 2:45 p.m. PST |
I havent really made buildings for sale for around 10 years now (I can't really believe its been that long!). A bit like yourself (I presume), I found that it just didnt pay the bills. I still make the occasional building, but for myself, friends or club games etc. I'm glad you still have the "fantasy" building, it was one of my favourites. Thanks for the kind comment, coming from yourself that is much appreciated. I just wish I was as prolific as you! Cheers, Paul |

Hey fellas, this question has been asked in the past, but I can't find the link; which site has battles between various alien factions for a town, and also zombie vs human games, several of which feature a pink sofa/armchair, and Steve Irwin? Cheers J |

Tell you what mate – get me some pics of the booth babes that I will be missing out on, and I'll stand you beers at the next meeting. Oh, and if/when we all play a game (soon hopefully) I'll let you win ;-p (I'm very good at letting people win!). Johnny – you are not getting my portion – I am sure Matakishi being the upstanding gentleman he is will put my portion in a doggy bag for me to re-heat at home ;-) BTW guys – any of you going down that way, if you get time, pop along the coast a bit back towards Brighton. Just before Newhaven (well, next door to it) is a little town called Seaford. It also has an old Napoloenice era watchtower – it still (well, had last time I was there) the canon on the roof. It also houses a museum in it that whilst not a wargaming based one, does house all sorts of appliances from throughout the years – it was only 50p to go in last time I was there and was very interesting. It had a room full of old computers which was cool, plus loads of other things. A nice way to spend a couple of hours. It's down on the seafront. Also, in the town are at least two old bookshops with a large collection where you may find some bargains – again, both are pleasant enough to spend a couple of hours browsing through. |
