If I recall correctly, the ones who raise Tarzan are very different (the more evolved Man-gani?) from the Gorillas (Bol-gani): link link PDF link Pulp Figures has this in the pipeline (scroll down to 5th photo set): link Spot-on for each, don't you think? CC |

It would be nice to have a pack of males and females of the mangani. Since take physical anthropology in university, I have though an isolated group of A. bosei would be the bext explanation for mangani. link |

Yep, those look good for the role. The world can always use more knuckle-walking gorilla minis. |

ERB did say that the mangani walked in an upright fashion many times thru ouot the 24 books. |

Looks like Bob is on the way to becoming the true "Lord of the Apes". He has just the right style for intelligent baboons (Ton-gani) too: link link Lord of ALL primates, it seems. Hail Bob!!!! Keep them coming (and other early humans too), please. CC link |

All three look great but the gorilla is simply smashing! I'd second the motion of the Pulp Figures line having a few more Burroughs-inspired figures in its Lost Worlds line. |

Just as long as they don't look too Burroughs-like, or else the anal IP police will get him and no one will ever enjoy them. CC |

"Just as long as they don't look too Burroughs-like, or else the anal IP police will get him and no one will ever enjoy them." I don't think that there's as much a problem here as you think. Unless the figures are in some *specific* configuration, like Tarzan, Jane, and Boy. The "Jungle Lords" and "Jungle Queens" all look pretty much the same. Paint black hair on your JL and he's Tarzan. Paint blonde hair on him and he's Ka-Zar. Paint blonde hair and a leopard skin bikini on the JQ and she's Sheena. Paint on a white tiger skin and she's Tiger Girl. Paint on black hair and she's Rulah. And so on. I've seen many artists interpretaions of the various characters and beasts in pulp magazines, comic books, on dust jackets and on paperback covers. St. John's Tarzan is different than Frazetta's Tarzan, and the apes can be depicted in darned near *any* way the artist feels will work. Frazetta's apes on the cover of the "Son of Tarzan" Ace Paperback makes them look distinctly like Gorillas, even though they are obviously not. I've seen quite a few different versions of the characters, clothing and beasts of the John Carter, Carson Napier, and David Innes novels as well. And what the heck, a dinosaur is a dinosaur. ( : |

Yes, very nice. Good for both 15mm and 25-28mm too – and maybe even 6mm, where he'd make a nice Kong Junior. I wonder how big he is next to the not-Godzilla and giant snail monster that Khurasan makes? |
