Suggest you check out the ACW Generals Gallery website:
generalsandbrevets.com

An excellent reference source for photos of all the ACW Generals!

Who's "Harry Hunt"?

I have never read of him. I'm geniunely asking here I'm not trying to be smart.

I do know of a General Henry Jackson Hunt commander of the union artillery of the army of the potomac. Is that the general you're refering to?

There is a picture of Henry Jackson Hunt on nps.org:

The site Larry GettysburgSoldiers references shows him holding or wearing a slouch hat in more than one picture:

Thanks, your query and Larry's reference has me off doing some picture browsing now… grin

Consul Scipio,

Huh? In ALL those photos he's wearing/holding a Kepi. What pictures are you looking at?!

He's referring to generalsandbrevets.com, which shows a couple of photo's of the general holding or wearing a kepi.

Yeah I know but he said, "The site Larry GettysburgSoldiers references shows him holding or wearing a slouch hat in more than one picture", which isn't the case at all.

Genesteeler07 Jun 2006 11:59 a.m. PST

I was looking at the pictures where he was holding a kepi. Then I wrote slouch hat. I have no idea why, but I wrote down the wrong type of hat. I was thinking kepi when I wrote it.

Too much use of the zip kicker and being surrounded by some confederate models wearing…you can bet…slouch hats. grin
