Does anyone produce a 25mm round "inset" miniature base in plastic? I like the GW-style slotted bases, have been using them for a while. I have a lot of older figures that have integral bases. I've done the trick of gluing the miniature to a washer then have putty or spackle piled up so every figures has its very own mound to stand on. That looks silly to me, even worse when using the GW bases. And I would also like to avoid removing the original bases from the figures. Thanks, Al | rivetsandsteam.com |

Not sure what you mean by inset. You mean like the Warmachine bases where the central portion is recessed? They make a 30mm slotted base like that. If you want unslotted, Mongoose sell theirs (from the SST game) but they are not recessed

I know what he means – I'm looking for exactly the same thing. Think GW Slottabase (or non-slotted, doesn't matter – the same beveled-edge circle, 25mm dia.), but there's a circle recessed in the middle that would be approx. equivalent to the thickness of most integral cast bases (Copplestone, Pig Iron, TAG, etc.). Reaper makes some in metal, but the cost of those racks up fast. Resin, plastic, wood, I don't really care what they're made of, as long as they can let me get some uniformity in my basing without costing almost as much as a figure for a handful of 'em
And no, the new-style rounded-edge bases won't do, sadly. |

Iron Wind does metal hexes in that style, but not rounds that I've seen. Hobby Products has done plastic squares with a round inset before, and Adiken did plastic squares with oval insets. |

nvdoyle – spot on, gov! And I'd also like to avoid the new-style, rounded-edge, lip thingies, as well. Extra Crispy – I'm also in the market for the slotless bases. Perfect for transplanting clickies. Mongoose, eh? Farstar – seen the IWM bases. They're nice, but I've got a large number of figures that need to be based, so those are a bit cost prohibitive. Extra Crispy – Found the slotted bases on Mongoose's website, but not what you are describing. |

You know
I wonder if this is something that Litko could make? Take two circles, cut out the inside of one, glue them together, then bevel the edges

Nope, GF9 doesn't have anything like it. |

Just fired off an email to Litko, I'll update as soon as they respond. |

I'm also interested in this. I personally would not mind if they have rounded edges instead of beveled; but I want 25mm, not 30mm like the Warmachine or Mongoose ones are. |

I also have a vague memory of some plastic robots coming with plastic hex bases like this, but I have no idea who makes them now. |

Broad, Check with Jeff Valent for bases. That is where i get them from when i need them and that style. :-) Grimm |

Good news – it sounds like Litko might be able to come up with something! Here's what I suggested to them: "Take two circles, each half the thickness of the standard slotbase (or maybe 2/3 and 1/3, I'm not sure on that yet). One of those circles is untouched, it forms the 'base' of the base. The other circle has another circle cut out of it, concentric, and is then attached to the 'base' circle, thus forming the lip of the assembled base that lets my cast base figs look more like my slotbase figs." Ken from Litko said that he can make these, and has done so in the past. He had a few more questions, and I've tried to answer them – I'll post back again in this thread as soon as I hear anything more. (I also just realized that I forgot to ask about beveling the outside edge
darnit.) |

Hi all, We now have a 25mm round tapered metal base available. The prices are pretty resonable too! It's a high quality machined base with no sharp edges and it's also magnetic since it's made from steel. It was designed and produced to be a metal substitute for the GW 25mm base since we found there was a need for an item with these specific properties. We also have a metal base insert which was designed to be placed into the base of the 25mm GW base. To find out more just go to galronmfg.com/default.aspx Steve Rodriguez Galron Mfg. |

Has anybody found 25mm plastic recessed (lip) bases yet? I have some 28mm figures mounted on pennies and I would like to mount them on 25mm round base. If I leave them on the pennies and stick them to regular 25mm slotted bases they will be too tall and removing them form the pennies could damage the figure as they seem very securely attached. So a 25mm recess base (like the 30mm Warmahcine bases) would work. The hobby Access lip bases seem to be in 30mm. Thanks, Brian |
