It is Earth . . . you can tell from the contour of the coastlines. But, as your ship gets closer to the ground, you realize that something has happened while you and your crew have been away . . . something VERY wrong.

I am looking for "insects" like the ones in the movie "Mimic", standing upright but still looking very menacing? Any suggestions on something like this for 28mm?

Ral Partha actually did a set of 3 Roach Spirits (Roachmen) in its Shadowrun line. They don't look exactly like Mimics, but they do look like giant upright Roachmen.

They aren't listed on the RP Europe and Iron Wind Metals websites, but this guy on Ebay has 7 packs available at $4.95 USD each:

Can't find a good photo online, but as I recall, one of the Roach Spirits is wearing a trench coat and rumpled fedora (he's the middle guy in the Ebay photo; his left hand is holding his hat on his head), and the other two are identical, either naked or wearing the ragged remains of clothing, I can't recall which.

Interestingly, here's a French Ebay auction with only *two* Roach Spirits in the blister:

They must have been packaged differently in Europe. The French Ebay photo is larger, so you can see the minis more clearly.

Or Starship Troopers (SST – by Mongooose).

Or what about these painted plastic ones:

Or what about Celenites or Selenites? Somebody used to make them a while back.

I am looking for metal figures. I haven't been very successful at repainting those Star Wars plastic minis, though they are a bargain.

I like the one on the left! Is that the only pose available though?

TNT is playing the film again tonight. I don't know. I must have a thing for humanoid-looking bug mutants.

This is what they looked like:

I wish they were metal though.
