Did the Duchy of Wurzburg field any integral artillery, either as regimental guns and/or separate batteries?

Thanks for the help.

Yes. They had small regimental guns early on and fielded a half battery or battery later (don't have exact dates at work).

The Uniform followed the progression of the line and was brown with helmet early and French style later. Distinctions were red.

Thanks Blue. Would these be 6lbr's by chance?

Wurzburg fielded a 6-gun battery of 6-pdrs in the Grand Armee when it invaded Russia.

Thanks Astro. Any info post 1812, presumably the battery was lost there?

I can find no reference to the artillery being used in 1813. But I do have a reference for 1814 stating that the Wurzburg infantry, cavalry, and a small artillery detachment were absorbed by the Bavaria army after Wurzburg was handed back to Bavaria. I can only presume that the Wurzburg artillery battery suffered too much in 1812 and was unable to take the field in 1813.

Stu, you might be correct in the abstract, but the present political campaign by La Raza et al frightens me. Spanish language radio stations frighten me. I'm all for bi-lingualism, but THEY don't want to learn English, or become Americans. They want to take over our southwest.

("They" isn't all Hispanics; it's a movement, not a race.)

That wasn't my comment … could you delete that??

I wanted to link to an image of the "Augsburger plates", published during the 1805-1810's … it shows a Würzburg artillery group in the background -> picture
Nice regards
