Will there be more of them?
I plan to make them land on a planet populated by cavemen.

Chupacabras25 Apr 2006 3:03 p.m. PST

Looks like the "Boiler Suits" are expanding to space, which is more in tune with my tastes. So, i guess, expect more:

These look perfect for some Uplift War scenarios.

mrwigglesworth25 Apr 2006 3:10 p.m. PST

Wow that apegirl is hot!
I mean….she look warm in that suit…

NightskyWildfire25 Apr 2006 3:13 p.m. PST

Maybe they have come from the future to liberate their brethren being held in animal testing facilities and zoos.

Dances With Words Fezian25 Apr 2006 3:26 p.m. PST

nice figs…would work with Rifts or other Transhuman games too???? Gotta see about the set…(wish they had helmets to go with them though!)

Hexxenhammer25 Apr 2006 4:12 p.m. PST

Perfect for "Uplift" gaming as well. Can neo-dolphins be far behind?

I've got the Steve Jackson Uplift neo-chims and they're not as nice as these.

nvdoyle25 Apr 2006 5:30 p.m. PST

Those are delightful!

Now if we could just get humans with the same weapons in the same suits… grin

Chupacabras25 Apr 2006 6:11 p.m. PST

I wouldn't buy their regular "boiler suit apes", but I can easily go for some with "space" weapons".

Cacique Caribe26 Apr 2006 9:35 a.m. PST

I would also go with the more "spacey" look.

When there are more packs with "space" weapons and uniforms, particularly crew and mission teams, I will probably order.

Yes… "spacey"…

Who is the US dealer for Eureka now that Brigade Games stopped stocking them?

Cacique Caribe02 May 2006 4:37 p.m. PST

Peachy,

I have not tried them (yet) but, I am told, this is the U.S. distributor:

I took a peek at the site. Seems like it is very much under construction. Pax Limpopo stuff goes to "no products listed".

Apes are not even listed, so the space apes will have to wait.

It would be nice if they made more of the space apes. And then maybe some primitive ones; kind of like the ones in the Burton POTA remake or the Dark Horse Comics follow-ups (Their film adaptation graphic novel is not bad either. Drops the whole ridiculous Linolcn Monument thing.)

Peachy, it seems a lot of us are with you on this. Either very futuristic (as spacefarers), or very primitive (a la the first POTA movie or similar).

you wont see apes from the first POTA movie. All the other pota movies had em in boiler suits anyways.

Cacique Caribe12 May 2006 5:49 p.m. PST

Mr. Charisma,

This is what I remember:

* Planet of the Apes (1968): Typical Ape City attire (NO boiler suits)
* Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1969): Typical Ape City attire (NO boiler suits)
* Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971): Except for a brief scene where they wear astronaut suits, and human clothes for the papparazzi and committee hearings, the apes wear typical Ape City attire (NO boiler suits)
* Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972): Boiler suits
* Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973): Boiler suits

* In the tv series there are NO boiler suits either.
* The animated tv series has NO boiler suits either.

Looks like boiler suits are a minority (in only 2 of the 5 movies and in none of the 2 tv series). If I am wrong, would someone please correct me. Thanks.

Hundreds of thousands (maybe even millions) of POTA fans cannot possibly be wrong! :)

people cant make classic POTA figs without a liscense. I do stand corrected on the amount of boiler suits in the films though. I watched em once each 10 years ago so I dont rate myself as a great fan.

Actually in the last Apes film (Battle) the Gorilla's and Orangs were in classic attire.

Thanks,

John

Cacique Caribe28 Apr 2009 8:21 p.m. PST

(sigh)

Those classic outfits made them look alien – as they should look.

Boiler suits . . . nah.
