Hi folks,

just a quick note to let you know that we now have the first pictures up of the Austin Armoured car. This is the late war 'E' version that was in use from 1917 on the western front but also saw action in Russia, Persia and the Caucasus at the end of WW1 and into the 1920s.

Piccies can be seen at:
link

We will hopefully have some painted versions available to see soon. More versions including the Kegresse will follow soon.

This vehicle like all our WW1/interwar stuff is 1/48th as we think that goes best with the available WW1 and BoB ranges.

cheers

Tricks I`m not a member of your yahoogroup so couldn`t use the link to view the photos any other links?

adster16 Apr 2006 3:24 p.m. PST

Yes it is VERY tedious getting linked to a Yahoo group…

Grinning Norm16 Apr 2006 4:14 p.m. PST

Isn't it possible to make certain parts of the group open to the general public, such as the message archives and maybe the photo album?

TheRaven16 Apr 2006 4:27 p.m. PST

yes I too am not a member and actuallly there is no way to sign up for the group. Many of us already have too many groups. I myself have particular hurdles since I once joined that 15 mm WWII armor maker in austrailia by mistake… after countless emails to them and to yahoo to betaken off thier list they have refused and the only way to stop them is to block them…. then Yahoo periodically spams me with notices to let them back on and eventually blocks me from joining any groups until I take the block off.
BTW anyone have an email adress to yahoo directly?

Grinning Norm16 Apr 2006 4:42 p.m. PST

Unsubscribing isn't a problem. Can be done on the page of the group.

TheRaven16 Apr 2006 4:48 p.m. PST

Been there, done that…. it did not work they still keep sending unwanted junk mail. Even when I look it up on the Yahoo group it says I AM NOT A MEMBER.

How about just posting the Austin to a publicly viewable site

sloppyjalopy.com

Sorry folks I am currently away from home for a week or so and cannot update the website. So the yahoo group is the only access I have for uploading a picture. Since I am a member of around 50 such groups I didn't realise people had such an antipathy to them.

For those who can't acess the yahoo group I will get pictures posted up on the website next week.

cheers

Tricks – I too am a member of dozens of groups and like them – I was just pointing out your link was unavailable to non-members :-)

Please post again when you`ve updated the website – I look forward to seeing the pics of the Austin.

Regards

Richard

Just sent Bill a news story regarding our releases for Salute which includes a picture of the unpainted Austin. Hopefully that will be up in the news section shortly.

I've just finished painting a display version which needs to go to Shaun McLaughlin in the next day or two so he can have it on the Monolith stand (which is where you can get our interwar ranges at Salute). When it comes back next week we'll get some pictures done and the website updated! It'll be worth the wait, honest. grin

Nice pics. Any chance of a Rolls Royce Armoured Car?

Tricks18 Apr 2006 12:22 p.m. PST

Very possibly. I want to do another couple of earlier versions of the Austin as it is a personal like of mine. After that I have various versions of the Mack Truck I am planning on doing as long as copyright from the company is okay (in the present climate we make a point of getting permission from the companies whose vehicles we are modelling if they are still in existence).

Our other interwar designer is supposed to working on various Kegresse versions which I hope to see soon.

But both the Rolls Royce and the Lanchester are pretty certain in the not too distant future.

A Mack truck? Great!!!!!!!!!

Tricks23 Apr 2006 11:19 a.m. PST

My plan is 3 or 4 versions all from WW1 or immediately after. Probably all in metal like the other interwar trucks we do

Tricks,

if it will help your designer any I have a number of colour photos of a real restored Citroen-Kegresse civilian halftrack in the private collection of Messr. Jaques Littlefield out here in California. I'd be more than happy to share them with you (along with all the other photos I've taken from the Littlefield Collection).

Let me know, and I'll shoot you some JPEGs…;D

Thanks Leland, that would make my business partner particularly happy as he has something of a love affair with the Citreon Kegresse.

I will get him to drop you a note ofline if that is okay.

cheers
