Does anyone know what are the best Franco Prussian war miniatures in 6mmm, i'm looking to collect these armies, but finding pictures of specific brands is hard. Any advice ? 1.) Anyone have any pics ? 2.) Best value for money figures and best quality ? 3.) Anyone know if I can get these in Canada or the U.S online ? |

I think Baccus has a range in production. They put up a "teaser" picture back in december: picture Cheers/Fredrik |

AFAIK only Irregular & Heroics/Navwar have ranges currently in production. Pete Berry showed me a handful of sample Baccus FPW figs at the weekend, but I'm pretty sure they aren't in full production. H&R are nice but small compared to modern 'heroic' scale 6mm. Irregular are a bit blobby in the bare lead, but paint very well and come pre-based. All my 6mm FPW stuff is Irregular. The Baccus ones will be very nice when they are produced. There are some blurry pics of Irregular FPW stuff on Bob Mackenzies site (hardly a great advert), and some rather nicer pictures of H&R stuff in the 1870 rulebook. Don't know about US/Canadian suppliers for any of these. Irregular have a v.good mail order service though. |

Thank you very much.. I don't have the 1870 rule book yet.. so I don't know what Heroics look like. I'll try to find a copy.. Thanks Again |

Hi there, I'm hoping to have the new FPW range available sometime in May. Naturally enough I am quite biased, but I think that these will be something quite special. If you can wait until then, both Heritage Studios in the US and Milites Minimus in Canada will be stocking them, and both have online shopping. I'll be posting pictures once I get a few of them painted up. Cheers Peter Berry Baccus 6mm baccus6mm.com |

Amazing detail on that one Peter! I'll be hard pressed to choose between this range and the WOTR range for my next effort. |

I've just bought quite a bit off ECW baccus stuff from Milites Minimus and the service there was more than Fantastic, so if indeed released in May, I think i'll wait. Thanks again

Peter: will you also be making Austrians and/or Danes for the earlier wars? |
Nic Robson | 04 Apr 2006 2:12 p.m. PST |
Irregular already have Austrians for the earlier period, and I rather like them. Nic EUREKA MINIATURES |

I haven't completed my own Heroics & Ros based FPW armies just yet, though they are progressing. I am very pleased with their range of figures for this period and are one of their best ranges IMO. However, you may find this link useful for some H&R figures for the FPW: link In addition, here are some Irregular figures for the FPW based for Volley and Bayonet: link You will find some other suggestions within my website which may be of additional use: link Hope that helps? Just an update, I bought Heroics and Ros, and they are great, easy to paint and look fantastic, only problem, they look like skinny dwarves next to any other suposed 6mm model I have, so sadly cross overs others makers look odd when placed together. |

I too have some rather large HR armies (Napies and Ancients) that aren't compatible with Baccus (though they look great and have excellent mass: picture However Irregulars can mix with both ranges as they strike a middle ground. Am definately looking forward to the baccus FPW! I'll use my 10mm perrin FPW for grand skirmish and the Baccus for large battles. |
