Heard a rumor(?) that GW had acquired the rights to DBA…

Interesting to say the least. One of the biggest hurdles in the DBx community was how to increase participation. Many pointed out how the current rulebooks lacked the GW style with pretty miniatures and easily read diagrams that turned off the neophytes.

Needless to say, one should be careful what they wish for…

Madcam.

It's April you Fool!

I agree with ACE. No way would DBA players be held to the casting use restrictions that Warhammer has . Also DBA players are a thrifty lot and would gaga at a GW level price.

Saw the link at the Fanaticus website. One can only hope that this is a cruel April Fool's prank. I have no desire to show up at a Con and be told that none of my armies can be used because they're not GW figs.
Please be a prank, please!!

look at the minis… they are simian (simiam?) ones… this is an hoax :)

astronomican01 Apr 2006 7:18 a.m. PST

It's a good hoax.

April Fools no doubt.

Pretty good one, though. Can you imagine how many editions and list changes there would be under GW (as if it wasn't bad enough already)?

Bill Rosser01 Apr 2006 7:25 a.m. PST

Do you think Phil Barker gave permission to use his rules this way? What impact will it have on his sales? Just wondering out loud.

Lukash01 Apr 2006 7:44 a.m. PST

Thats a pretty good joke. I like the roman soldier link. lol

rayskeleton01 Apr 2006 7:47 a.m. PST

I am pretty sure that it's a joke. I think that the Simian Romans are from the Hundred Armies range.

Ya gotta hand it to Mr.Brantley he always has a good one for April 1st. One year he almost gave me a heart attack till someone let the cat out of the bag. Good one Chris.

The first thing that I did this morning was to scan the headlines for the obvious April fool stories. This one stuck out.

The Centurian01 Apr 2006 8:26 a.m. PST

Whew! That was almost too good a joke!

I don't mind DBA moving to GW but I really don't like the new sculpts the proprotions on those romans make them look like gorillas.
