Bill,

Just noticed that there are nearly 950,000 total messages on TMP, so I know this is a bit of a way off, but what wonderful prize/honor can/will you bestow on the lucky TMP denizen who hits the 1 millionth post jackpot?

Enquiring minds want to know… evil grin

Something to shoot for!

It would probably be fair to turn off the counter's visibility as we draw near that nmystic number, or to disqualify consecutive posts in the same thread from counting.

I have been wondering along these lines earlioer today… how much space does TMP actually take up on a server… it must be massive!

Cheers,

Probably not that much. Plain text is quite small…

How about releasing the entire content of the message boards on a 1000000 posts on Minis, Zed Zardoz and Redheaded Goth Chicks CD?

No, anything but THAT!

No prize.

It would be way to easy to generate a script that would submit a few thousand posts. Sure, you could dawghouse the fiend afterwards, but it would ruin it.

Well, if there is a prize cache, I'll donate to it. I think, if it's legitimately earned, that there should be some recognition. But if it's some skeezy sneak who manipulates things to get it, I say we hang him from the old oak tree!

Didn't Nostradamus predict the end of the world if TMP ever reached 1 million posts ?

Sane Max Inactive Member30 Mar 2006 4:13 a.m. PST

He certainly did.

"And in the year of the Curved Yellow Fruit
from the east will ride
a man in red, masked.
The master of venerable gas
will beckon the Scarlet daffodil
and the people of the land of buns
will not mourn without reason"

Obvious really.
