Yes, its still there but very little traffic. May be the news server you are using that is the problem.

Usenet generally is dying, we will probably end our news service when our current server reaches end of life in a year or so.

It's still there, dead as ever courtesy of the political morons.

Yahoo groups and forums on the web have taken over from the gaming news groups. I scan the relevant news groups every day but seldom anything worth reading.

Mind you, TMP's forums (and Wargames Directory's for that matter) are giving rgmh a run for its money nowadays when it comes to posters who believe in quantity of posts, not quality. There's just too much trivial shyte that can't be filtered out (and stifling only does so much). The trouble with free speech is that you get what you pay for.

If you're getting "server not found", the problem is with your news server, not Usenet itself.

Many usenet newsgroups in which participants repsect the charter and trolls are not tolerated are alive and thriving today, in spite of many mail lists out there.

A few idiots destroyed rgmh.

Talking about idiots, how goes rec.games.miniatures.warhammer?

"A few idiots destroyed rgmh."

It was more than a few, but less than loads. :-)
