Somewere in the vast archives of TMP I've read that certain number drill bits correspond to the standard (if there's one) large and small paperclip widths. Could someone please enlighten me before I place an order with WidgetSupply.com? Thank you in advance. |

I use 1mm bits for "small" paperclips and 1.5mm for the larger clips. Buy several 1mm bits as they can break easily. At 68 pence each here (UK) I buy a bunch at a time. |

On mine, I take the set of bits that came with the vice and hold the paperclip up to them, then load the bit of the same size. Actually, I did that a few months ago, and its still in the chuck. |

Have to go with Condottiere on this one. I also use the #68 0.031 inch drill bit for pinning paper clips. On the downside the #68s only seem to come packed with other less than useful sizes. |

Check out electronics supply stores – one of my locals sells packs of 10 x 1.0mm drills for a few dollars – they have 1, .8 & .7 mm drills for making your own curcuit boards. |
