Inspired by the recent thread on Predators, I have decided to invest in a pack of Copplestone Castings Predator figures. I have never painted one before and am wondering what colour schemes/paints you would recommend particularly for the flesh areas and armour? I am normally a historical figure painter so this is a new direction for me to paint alien lifeforms! |

I went for the classic cream and dark brown skin with gunmetal armour. There are a few web sites out there which guide you through step-by-step painting of the large 1:6 model kits. I particularly recommend modelworks.de predator/predator.htm while agisn.de/html/predator.html has a picture of a well-painted NMM Copplestone figure, but a google search for predator or predator painting will be a good reference. |

I painted a pack recently and used colour scheme similar to those on the Copplestone website. I used a subdued green(Vellejo: US Dark Green, I think) as a basecoat, then lightened it for a light and again for a highlight colour. The "spots" were done in a darker green. Dark grey armour with a lighter highlight to the edges. They seemed to come out OK: link |

Overlord awc – nice paint jobs. I will follow you lead, green seems like a good way to go. I was after theprevious links (thanks Monty) going to go with Brown, but I like your interpretation. |
