Okay so today is election day, so the politicians won't need their stupid yard signs after today. However, it seems that most of the signs in my area are made of that cheap corrugated plastic. I haven't found any made of EPC or poster board (which would have been really useful).

So my question is whether anyone has any idea of how (or even if) I can use recycled political signs for terrain projects or for anything at all.

Thanks,

There was an article way back in Miniature Wargames 56 (January 1988) that showed how to use that sort of material as the base for a set of terrain hexes. There were also a couple of photos on the back cover showing the hexes being used in a Napoleonic's game.

I use them for terrain bases and cutting boards. Also, the city I live in requires them to be gone by nine in the morning the next day. So if you want them you have to grab them after the polls close.

Cheap hills in the smaller scales. A finicky person could glue paper to the exposed corrugation. Anyway, they're lightweight and reasonably sturdy.

I have used them as dividers in boxes

I don't think they warp. They're light, rigid, easy to cut, take glue well. They take spray paint well, too. You could use them for boards, but they'd get bumped easily.

With some Gorilla tape or the like you could make very nice custom-sized boxes.

I try to harvest a few each election season, though there aren't many around my area this year. I hope I can find some.

They are very useful if you're the type that solves problems with a utility knife and Gorilla tape.
