Now that you have decided to sell off some or all of your wargame figures how will you price them? A. Painted, cost of figure plus a bit more for paint. B. Painted, cost of figure. C. Unpainted, cost of figure. D. Unpainted, cost of figure less a bit. Some factors that may influence this could be Out of production, ones you paid to have painted. Your motivation to sell may also affect the price. Do you include shipping? Only offer pickup? What else should be considered? |

If the goal is to get it out of your house, then be ready to cut the price. Unpainted should go for 50% of retail (although that "retail" price can include what it would cost for shipping + tariffs). Too many times I've seen sellers asking for near retail prices – why would I pay that if I could just go to the retailer. Painted – depends on your skill level. But you really need to be honest, just cause it has paint on it does not mean it counts as painted. A bunch of busted up junk is worth less than unpainted. Buyer normally pays shipping. Pick up at a convention or club swap meet would be idea for both parties – but that limits your range of possible buyers. |

If the goal is to clear stuff out, as I have been doing then it's in full units at least and after taking the pictures, I determine what I would be willing to pay for them. I sell on eBay with a forlorn hope price first pass and reduce with each additional pass with a buy it now as the original price. If things are slow I sometimes just use the set price and let it stand. One very important note is to get a TMP membership and post on the auction board. It really works to get lots of views.
