Will we see nuclear weapons used on any level (including nuclear EMP, excluding "dirty bombs") in the 2020s in Ukraine or the Middle East? I'm on the fence. I lean towards no, but I get less certain on that as time goes on. |

I do personally think that if we see one, it will be a suitcase nuke deleting an airport or something like that. But I think that possibility becomes more pronounced as Russia/Iran are diminished in their conventional capabilities. |

I was more worried about the Ukraine War a year or two back, but we're not out of the woods yet. In the Mideast, I think we're clear--this time. No bets on the 2030's. There's a long-term cycle of violence, and I think we're 50-80 years from the next peak. |

Short answer: No. Long answer involves present day politics, and thus not permitted to be discussed in the main forums, and thus not really appropriate for a poll. But if Putin intended to use nukes, he'd have used them already. He's insane, but not *that* insane. (He just wants the West to think he is.) |
