Yesterday we fought a game based on the Battle of Froeschwiller fought on 6 August 1870. Since the original battle was fought on a broad front I chose to set the game at about the midway point of the battle, about 2:00 PM when the French right collapsed and the Germans were moving in for the kill in the relatively open space between Elsasshausen and Froeschwiller. It was a big game with around 2000 28mm figures that kept ten of us entertained for about five hours on a Sunday. More details can be found here: link |
