Wow. Toured it around 11 years ago, visiting my son and his family, stationed at Ramstein AFB. It was surreal touching history, walking the place I'd seen film footage of, with Adolph and his allies walking around with their wives. It really brought history to life for me, making it real. Sad that it is gone because touching history, especially when it is horrific, makes it absolutely real. Thanks for posting this. Cheers!

Sad. I hate to see any historical site being destroyed. Even one attached to such an evil man. Destroying Eagle's Next is not going to make Hitler disappear.

Seems a place like that would have security to prevent this sort of thing.

I'm desperately trying to work up a reason to be upset about this.
Sorry. I failed. 🤷
Screw "historical significance". It was a shrine that got what it deserved.

John I would expect nothing less from you. Disappointed, but not in the least surprised.

How about this one John?

How about the Mairie de Limoges in France burned down by the "rioters" there, did " it get what it deserved"?

They are all historic. Those who did both said: "Screw historical significance , it got what it deserved."

There are those who would burn down the White House and feel it justified.
Burn down Buckingham Palace and feel "it got what it deserved".
Bomb the Eiffel Tower.
There are those who would gladly bring down the Al-Masjid al-Haram and feel "it got what it deserved".

Not surprised, but disappointed.

Classic "tu quoque" logical fallacy.
The "Yeah but what about…."
Just as valid as answering a TDS with "Yeah, but what about (insert Biden or Obama…)

There is no comparison. Hitler was a classic Bad Guy. U S Marines are Good Guys.
ANYTHING remotely commemorating Hitler should have been made into a toxic waste dump in the late 40's.
