If always considered GASLIGHT to be an ideal "toolbox game". It's all there. Simple to play. Movement, shooting, morale, melee etc. I've run a few games at HMGS conventions where I could just tell 6 players "Run the game yourself. You see the charts." And they did. Even though I suspected that half of them were HAWKS… 🙄 Anyway… I want to start a Western thingie in our group. Start with a simple Great Northfield Minnesota bank robbery. Then ease into "Hallelujah Trail" for a multi day "campaign". No science. Just a straight game with toys on the table. I'll encourage participants to get and paint their own gang. Any thoughts? Recommendations? Comments? Condemnations? |

I'd like to point out that I ran some very successful FIW and AWI games using "vanilla" GASLIGHT. |
