I have so far deleted 279 Spam emails today.
That's one minute per each out of my life span per email.
I must be one of at least thousands.
So I propose deleting one minute from the life of each of those foul miscreants.

What say you?

As a practical matter, it would be easier to figure out how many minutes they should be penalized for and send them to prison for that period rather than figuring out when they will die and killing them off that many minutes earlier.

For what it is worth, I have 743 emails in my fraud file (in case somebody ever needs them), but imprisoning people for them only adds up to a bit over 12 hours. So, maybe a month for each one.

There is a special place in hell for hackers, scammers and spammers. I wouldn't shed tears if they went sooner than later.

Ahemm. You can get an AI assistant to do that for you. Just sayin'.

Your ISP should be blocking this. When I used to be responsible for this sort of thing at work, over 95% of inbound mail was spam and Google zapped the vast majority while we picked up the residual stuff which came through (there is always some grey zone traffic).

Phone scammers drive me nuts though, and I can't understand how they arent blocked at source, particularly when using spoofed numbers.

I guess I am very lucky. Maybe I am jinxing myself now. I get very little spam emails and even far fewer calls

Use different email. I use Gmail and 99.999% spam is filtered out. Less than once per year a spam message actually makes it into my inbox and it's quite a novelty. The problem you describe was solved 19 years ago.

Most of this is computer-generated, and some of it semi-legitimate. I say we tax EVERYONE who uses a computer to harass people a quarter a time, phone and Internet both. Won't take the big bosses long to trim their lists, and in the meantime we've put a dent in the deficeit.

sentence them to work in a data center filtering spam. They can get out once they filter X number of spams out of people's inboxes. Minimum 1,000,000.
