Greeting fellow gamers,
As I write this, there is still time to check out Gamehole Con, in Madison. They are in their final session but they will be gaming all day. Also it is a last chance to visit their vendors. The MMSI (Military Modeling Show) is wrapping up, but again you still have a opportunity to see some great works of modeling art by the masters.
We wrapped up our best Autumn Wars ever with over 120 attendees (Thanks for joining us). The games were amazing. visually impressive and well attended. We were playing up to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Congratulations to Matt Hyke for winning the airbrush/compressor/paint combo. Use it in good health. We had over a dozen War Chest Tables (Flea Market) and bargains were to be had every where. We were able to introduce two new vendors- The Spruedude and The Battlemat Bazaar. They will be joining us again at Little Wars. Food options we plentiful and their kitchen staff did a great job. The new venue was spectacular, and our staff is already in the works to secure it for next year. We did have some parking SNAFUs but we were able to sort that out for the future.
Since our last post we had attended the Chicago Toy Soldier Show, a great event for an opportunity to pick up or just recall some fond memories of toy soldiers from our past. We were there and signed up 20 new subscribers (Welcome) and spoke with many friends. I for one did not leave empty handed with a number of items you will soon see on my gaming table.
Cantigny's "Date with History" lecture series, is done for the year. Keep informed with us on the upcoming 2027 schedule. We also did the second Historical Miniatures Night at Grognard Games, Roselle, IL. As always it is a great time and we are fortunate to work with Todd and his crew, thanks.
Upcoming events include Rockcon on November 6th thru 8th, located in Rockford, IL. Finally to close out the year will be our series of Toys For Tots events, held at both Games Plus and Grognards in Batavia.
Next is another reminder to help support our partner museum "The Chicagoland Veterans' Campus" lets help keep history alive. A side note any books that we did not sell at our book sale will be donated to the museum.
Keep up to date with the 2026 Calendar. There are plenty of save the dates. Also keep in mind some dates may change, so always check the most up to date newsletter. We are always open to publish your works on gaming, so don't be shy.
See you at the gaming table,
Kevin
