- Are you growing or shrinking your pile of shame?
- If it's shrinking, are you starting a new project or continuing an old one?
- What are you pulling out of your pile of shame next?

For me, I'm going to hit my 28mm WW1 miniatures hard. I still have figured purchased from Renegade new in packaging that need some paint!

Finishing my 28mm Peninsular chaps, then finishing some bits for our Borodino project, then some VSF buildings, 20mm WW2, Cold War, 28mm GW WOTR, Zombies, Chaos chaps!

Just when I thought I was out, they draw me back in.

Last February, I got an exceptional deal on 15 packs of Ral Partha Song Chinese.
I had them all organized, assembled, and primed when an obsession for the Irish rebellion of the 1920's jumped the cue.

It all started with some second hand WWI Brit's in caps that would work great for RIC black and tans and expanded from there.

This all coincides with an upcoming surgery after an unexpected diagnosis in late summer.

I guess I needed something to take my mind off of things.

Overall the pile of shame is getting smaller. Many items have been sold or given away. However last week I did receive my order for the Damned army box. These guys will be another faction of baddies in the outer rim of some galaxy far, far, far away

While I don't have a strict accounting, I believe my pile of shame is growing despite consistent efforts to paint figures.

I started test pieces for a Saxon village. The project will include animals and loot objects, and will go with the Saxon army I painted last year.

This is in parallel to expanding my Gaelic army.

I'm resuming the horse & musket 2mm put aside for the move to Lincoln months ago, and I ordered more--and a few 6mm German AT guns--to replenish the painting reserve.

But I think it's pretty much pointless. Whole bags of unpainted 28mm H&M I'd completely forgotten about turned up in the move, and I find my only real concern is whether they should be shipped to my usual eBay dealer or to Noble Knight when I'm done with them.

I suppose I should dig them out of the garage and find out what exactly they are, but really I don't think anyone cares.

I'm ashamed to discuss it.

Shrinking, but alas! very, very slowly. I really do try to exert some self-control.

About a year ago, I was struck by a great urge to finish up the Gauls/Celts I had run out of steam for back in 2012. This involved finding all the remaining Renegade Celts I had bought back then. It also involved inadvertently finding a different set of rules, which in turn, meant I have too many of these guys and not enough of these. Which lead to the discovery that Renegade had closed down, so I had to find a company whose figures were a similar size and style to fill the gaps I had discovered. Now, I am working on the last of the infantry and need to finish up the cavalry and the chariots I bought because, ummm, because, ummm, well, maybe I might possibly, perhaps need them for something.

On good days, I tell myself I pretty much have the things I need. Even when I finish the Celts, I still have lots of odd things to paint. Like the Macedonian era Byzantine army I put on hold until I could order some of those lovely shield decals, which arrived several years ago. There are a few things I would still like to buy for my existing armies, like a medium artillery piece for my WWII Greeks. So, it should just be a matter of finishing up projects I've started.

On other days, I think it would be great to start armies for the American Revolution, or the War of 1812, or maybe armies for the 1448 Byzantines in the Morea.

Still growing, but the rate has slowed down dramatically. Now I've been adding missing holes in my Grenadier Fantasy
Warriors / Nick Lund collection. It's starting to get expensive for the rarer stuff I must have.

Most of mine is done. Couple of small things I am not that interested indoing or finishing. So, I am looking for new projects.
