We do two Show games a year.

Tonight, we've been setting up our cut-down version of Operation Market Garden for the Train Show. The table is a little shorter than it will be  for our EXPO show next month.

The river, bridges, villages and roads give us the basic battlefield. Now we just need to add the armies, which will come on piece meal tomorrow.

Market Garden seems particularly well suited to a demonstration game, with its bridges, airborne objectives and advancing ground forces.

For those of you who put on demonstration or show games, what do you think makes a good show game? Is it the spectacle of a large, attractive table, plenty of figures and vehicles, a recognisable historical scenario, or a game that gives spectators a chance to get involved?

And do you build your tables primarily for historical accuracy, for an entertaining game, or for catching the eye of people walking past?
